Cultural Influence on Base Design Can Be Impressive

I came in this thread for pictures of good base layouts and I find 8 ♥♥♥♥ing pages of racist/not racist talk. Post some bases already and quit discussing!

No one has posted supposed 'racist' comments for quite a while. You are the one bringing it up. All involved quite happily got over it and moved on.

I don't get how saying a race is racist.

Didn't see anything even close to racist in this post.

He was inplying that Asian people are not good at making good bases. What if that guy was French? Or Indian? You probably wouldn't say, "dayum, that's a good base for a French/Indian guy!" But in this post you said that for Asian people. If you're doing this, why not do the same thing when you come across another base? Why target Asian people in particular? I'm taking this seriously because I am American-born Chinese myself. All my relatives are Chinese and I am the first one in the family to be born in the USA.

Well i think that what he said wasn't racist because his post didnt show any racist intentions and i only find it racist if you're called asian and being bullied about it which he isnt saying anything like that at all."

I didn't read the entire thread from page 1 to 8, but I saw atleast 3 headlines with the word racist in them in page 8, supposed it was still going on. I'm not bringing it up again, just want bases to show is all. Relax

The OP's use of the term Asian is in no way racist. The definition of racism is intolerance and hatred towards a race, religion, or ethnic culture as a whole. Simply referring to a race, religion, ethnic culture, or lifestyle is not racist nor hate speech. Maybe those who think otherwise should look up the definition of racism as you are obviously completely misinformed of what it means.

Not only was the term NOT used in such a manner, but actually the opposite...pointing to the differences in thought and view that cultures often have as a whole due exactly to those cultural differences and how that sometimes shows in the base designs of those from Asia, which the OP finds beautiful and brilliant and is sharing in hopes that some of the strengths that show so often in the bases of players within the Asian cultures can be emulated and spread those strengths further throughout the game. This is actually quite a big compliment...imitation is the greatest form of flattery is an appropriate cliche for this.

So, this off-topic and misunderstood discussion is finished. Please focus on the OP's point of the artistic beauty and strength of design in bases frequently created by those from another culture. In all art, and base design is an art, cultural differences are very influential in the viewpoint and thought that goes into the creation.

shaded trees...though your post and title are not technically racist...you have to be sensitive to various opinions....why even use the word in the first place?

throughout your OP you are pointing out that they think differently and your style of talking (writing) is messed up a bit...

clarktheschnarks original reply was appropriate....some people might take it as racist...you can argue it all you want but thats not going to do anything....just keep this in mind and think before posting something like this again

Other than the image at the first post, I haven't seen any other bases! I'm really interested in knowing if any of 'em is a nice town hall 8 I could start using!
