Pushing trophies is ridiculous

I (and my clannies) have pushed to champion 2 ways

One is...by winning a ton and staying online the whole time, I did it in less than 12 hours going from 2900 to 3200. I didn't log out once until I got kicked from game.

Two is..getting a good, smart, defense base. Go on defense as soon as heros are awake. When you win a defense you win 20-30 trophies, when you lose you lose 5-10. Still profit. The downside is you don't earn any loot and at the end of day you will lose pretty much all your resources. But if you have max defense and LvL 9 walls, AND a good defense base that is not common, smartly designed, it will take you there.

If you really want Champion you have to stay online 4-6 hours at a time. If you're one starring bases you have no choice. Is someone who finds you in a raid for +30 supposed to say...."well I can win 2 stars but he was only able to be online for an hour so I'll skip him"? The higher you go the less trophies you get per raid, the more raids you need to do per defense.

Also when I say "Big Boys" I mean permanent Champions.

Do you know the definition of fanboy? Build a better anti-hog base or something.... either way your defensive losses/wins balance out. You lose few trophies from overall defenses

If your defense cant hold your range then you dont belong there . POINT BLANK - Move a range comfy for you get some upgrades and then see where they carry you next time .. if you have max offensive troops and camp size and army size then you should have no complaint because you are on the same playing field as your enemies .. and if you DONT~ well then point proven again move down and get some upgrades rolling

In reply to Gubert, what Bigbunny is saying is partly true. In regards to his statement saying that if your defense can't hold your range then you don't belong there then I would say that's definitely false. At a certain point after you've reached 3k trophies everyone and their moms have level 30+ heroes. That is where your max defenses and walls start becoming insignificant. After around 3300 trophies good luck on defense since Gowiwi is the norm and you'll definitely wont see heroes of level 30 and below, at least I never did. You're definitely going to get 2 starred even with max defenses or 1 starred if the person attacking you is just spamming Gowiwi. From my experience the only time you win a defense is if the attacker screws up somehow and gets unlucky. So don't count on your defenses getting you too far up in trophies, eventually you will plateau and will start losing consistently and quickly get demoralized at the lack of wins on defense.

The point that Bigbunny does have though is on offense. If you have Max balloons, minions, barbarians or archers you should have an okay time reaching at least to Champions. Heroes are definitely the game changer on offense. I've had people attack me with Gowiwi and only get 30% but their level 40 heroes get released and they're able to get the 50% as if nothing happened. That's where I call bullsh*t. But whatever, that could be an entirely different thread in itself. But you don't need high level heroes to reach high cups, what you definitely do need are max troops and most importantly time. Without time you are not going to get high in cups. I made it to 3700 cups with mini balls and level 15 heroes and I could've gone higher but our push was over along with my spring break so I couldn't continue. If your heroes are at least level 15 you shouldn't worry about not being able to reach high champs you just need to be smarter about how you attack. I will emphasize time though. If you don't have at least 6 hours or more to contribute to attacking so you don't end up with a net loss in trophies you're going to have a bad time.

After that they would start losing more on defense. These are members of ours that were purposefully only going on defense without attacking hoping to get to champs that method. That's demoralizing since after 3000 trophies you start seeing level 30+ heroes a lot more frequently. I would say after 3300 trophies any base is going to get one starred. Hoping to only lose 5-10 trophies is a optimistic thought since everyone once in a while a person comes along, attacks you and takes 19 of your precious trophies away. The cup system is very random up higher in the leagues.

Yes relying on defense will only take you to 3200, but possibly not any higher. Two people in my clan did it in a week during the spring competition. They both used the same base. Both have max defense and full LvL 9 walls, heros around LvL 15s. Defense, walls, base, and you need some luck in being found by noobs...
