If you only get 2 stars on your first attack, look for a different base. DO NOT attack the base again, because even if you get 3 stars the second time, you're only gaining an extra 1 star. It would be better to get 2-3 new stars on a new base.

if I win my battles, but Clan loses the war? what do I get in the end?

No, however, heros in the middle of upgrading can be used for defense in your war base.

When you attack a base, there will be a very small amount of loot you can steal that will instantly go to your storages (it's generated from thin air so no one loses loot in Clan Wars) and if you win (at least 1 star) you will get a potential war loot bonus. At the end, if your clan wins, you will receive your war loot bonus; if your clan loses, you will receive 20% of your total loot bonus. I think it's 20% from what I saw in one of chiefpat's videos but I may be wrong.

I am a bit confused and worried, because my BK will be upgrading during the war day... Not sure if I should gem him to finish to attack with...

But anyways, we will find out soon. If I see no BK with me in battle, I can always go back to village and gem him to finish if needed. Our first war is gonna be easy so I might not need to do it.
