    Just thought I would add a little something here. I can't say that Clan Wars has been what I expected it to be. Seems as though you are forever in battle mode and I agree it is a huge drain on elixir, particularly if you can't get a win. It's fine to say switch clans to a better one but I happen to like the clan that I am in and have been with them for a long time. I can honestly say this is making me want to give up being in a clan all together and will probably result in quiting COC. You need to review how this clan wars thing is set up or I think you will lose a lot of players.

    Opt-in

    After a number of wars, which have all been losses (one draw), the major problems I see can all be fixed with one simple addition: Opt IN.

    Opt out isn't good enough, and places too much responsibility/load on (co-)leaders.

    If you require everyone to actually opt in to a war, then you know for sure that people are committed, and can be counted on to give it a good go. People who do not opt in to war, can still be valuable clan members.

    Sure, you might also want (co-)leaders to be able to exclude one or two people, e.g. they are too new / low level / useless at attacking, but for most cases, you want everyone in your clan war, that actually wants to be there, and you want everyone who doesn't want in (or isn't even on enough to opt in), to be out of the war.

    As noted by many of us, Clan Wars is great, but is causing major disruption in long-standing clans that have actually been really quite happy for months if not years, accommodating a variety of different types of players. It's a real shame that Clan Wars is forcing these clans to have to choose between ignoring Clan Wars, or going into War poorly prepared because a significant % are not contributing, or kicking out valuable long-standing clannies just because they are not into that particular war, or splitting into two...

    p.s. my other main gripe - the highest TH get ignored while everyone beats up the lower 2/3 - would probably be largely fixed if there was an opt-in, because if you have a full set of players committed to a war, and decent match making, chances are your top players do not need to pick on all the lower ones to get 2-3 stars, so they would actually be best served making sure every top base is at least 1-2 starred.

    Yes, there are bugs (ghost attacking is just plain unfair), but that is just IT.

    I've been trying to keep up with all these posts but there are quite a few. While I don't have many original suggestions, I felt an obligation to voice my opinion, for isn't that what this forum is for?

    Thank you to supercell for FINALLY implementing CW. It's understandable that there will be a huge adjustment period, no one can deny that. However, please do not wait too long to implement changes that should probably happen yesterday. My worry is that people will give into their frustration and stop playing. You don't have to change EVERYTHING at once. Just get the most important things out of the way before there is mutiny!

    I'm a leader and try to run a fun but competitive clan. Navigating us through this new clan war era is proving to be challenging, as many others have posted. I didn't think much of it at the time, but upon reflection, I feel bad for booting long time members because of their lack of participation in CW. Not everyone can be super active. These were great members who donated a lot and were never rude. Then they were rewarded with being kicked out because of pressure to make the clan stronger for CW. So the most important issue, IMO, is some form of an OPT-IN function combined with the ability of Leaders and/or Co-s to exclude members. Perhaps the opt-in can be something turned on or off. My friend and founding clan member is leaving for vacation so she will miss the next war. What do we do now? Go to war with dead weight(strong town btw) or have her leave then come back later? The answer is not as simple as it seems and it really shouldn't come down to this anyway.

    Have an area on the clan message to designate how often the clan participates in CW. In my message, (which is too short IMHO), I clearly state that we start CW every friday. That doesn't stop new people from endlessly asking, but maybe if every clan could indicate frequency, more people would actually read it. You could have a space for writing a CW message, or options to check, eg continually, once a week, or maybe even select which days.

    War log:
    Not being able to view past wars because of records getting cleared from maintenance is unfortunate. Crazy leaders like me use things like that to assess people's performance in CW. I can understand not being able to view all past attacks in replay, but the information about them is just a little bit of data.

    War Base Troops:
    While I completely agree with adding the ability to dump castle troops and/or the ability to see who donated, I am wholeheartedly against making castle troops count towards anything. If you received some sort of credit, then it would give people the ability to load every war base castle with crappy troops to up their numbers. People could still do it if nothing changes, but at least they won't have incentive to do so.

    Heroes:
    If the level of Heroes is counted toward the strength of a town, and overall clan, then I think we should be able to use them in attacking, not just on defense. If my town is supposed to be strong because I have high level heroes, but I can't use both of them due to upgrading, then that means my town is really only as strong as a similar town with no heroes at all. Now if the calculation is only taking into account the strength of defense then I suppose that is fine. But, if that was the case then it really shouldn't be a factor because heroes are not that much harder to eliminate if they are high level on defense. The difference on defense between a BKing1 and BKing40 is not the same as let say a Mortar1 and Mortar8.

    CW rating:
    I don't feel there's a need to give people ratings based on performance in CW. There are just too many inconsistent factors to take into account. If you say some is good because they have a high percentage of battles/stars won per attack, then all they have to do is attack weaker towns. If you're good because you attack high bases, then lower level players will just 1 star high towns with TH outside and get high bonus loot. There just doesn't seem to be an all size fits way of judging CW performance. How well you do depends on the opinion of your leader or whomever else decides your fate in the clan.

    CW Bonus:
    I don't know what the ratio is for losing because we haven't lost yet, I know good for me right, but I think the winning clan should have adjusted war loot bonuses based on the number of stars per battle. This will make it less of an incentive for weaker towns to 1star high towns. It would also reward people fully or more for getting 3 stars.

    War Base Layout:
    Its not the first suggestion because I'm assuming this is something that HAS to happen. It is way to stressful to change your base to a CW war base at the last minute because you don't want to risk someone attacking your town and losing your loot. I think it is imperative to make a war base layout saving option. But I would like to add that it would best be accompanied by a time limit on prep day. What good is prep day for scouting when many of the bases you scout change their layout by the time war starts? Perhaps making war bases lock after 12 hours would help with this. That gives people ample time to set their base after a war is initiated.

    Numbers next to bases:
    I would also suggest putting the numbers next to the town name where ever it may show up. For example the war log. It would be cool to be able to see on the war log that the enemy's top guys are only attacking our weak guys, rather than having to match up towns on the war map or in scout mode. While this is not really necessary, it would make COC a lot cooler and user friendly IMO.

    Claiming targets:
    I like this idea, but much has to be considered or it will backfire. How many targets can one person claim, 1,2, unlimited(I suggest only 2, I mean you only have 2 attacks, and after you once attack your claim # goes to 1)? How many people can a town be "claimed" by(i suggest up to 3, only because it can allow for people to discuss on chat board)? Having said all of that, I don't know if this whole claiming thing is potentially going to cause more problems. Lets say you claim a town and then someone just goes ahead and attacks that town. Now what? Animosity. Lets say you don't attack a town you claim. Now what? booted? Maybe it just should be left alone to prevent things getting out of control, after all not everyone is level-headed around here. You know, I would actually just prefer the ability to mark or rate the likelihood of me attacking a town, but just for me to see. Even if its just a box to put a check in. It's not hard for me to remember what town I like, but that doesn't mean its easy for everyone. I think it comes down to having some sort of ability to designate who I want to attack, not necessarily for everyone else to see.

    Ok sorry this was such a long message but I obviously have a lot to say. Thank you again to supercell for having clan wars and allowing us an avenue to express our suggestions/frustrations/compliments.

    The difference is if I am online I can see who donated rubbish and we can deal with them. But in clan wars we can't, we have at least one member who is sabotaging our CC troops and we don't know who it is....

    This solution has one major flaw, members can game the system by donating and re-donating troops they know will be dumped, thus artificially inflating their donation numbers.

    Other than this one issue and the much needed "opt in" for war I am loving the update

    Please add saving base layout ASAP.
    It is really starting to become a pain always remaking it.

    The request for troops does not work? I've donated to a clan member and then they say they had requested again but nothing shows up and I can't donate more to him?

    Happened to me too. Or someone will donate and I'll see my cc getting filled up by half, but I never receive the troops somehow. And then I have to wait another 20 minutes.

    Wrong Ranking

    I believe there are problems when the system calculates and ranks members within the clan. In my clan, some members have everything (troops, defences, walls, heroes...) higher than or equal to some others but rank lower.
