Looks like if you Hero's aren't available to use, you won't have them for attacking.

Er.., if you say so. The whole thing looked like a big change on 'normal clashing' to me, but thats just me.
Normally, if Hero's are hurt they aren't available on Defence, or if a Def Building is upgrading it isn't available either, so forgive me, but the changes were all a surprise to me.

Nope, the information given out so far clearly explain that your war base will be at full power regardless of what you upgrade (probably as if the update wasn't in progress). So your heroes, clan castle troops and anything else won't be regenerating or be destroyed for the time of war.Nope

However, attacking in a war is as if you were attacking normally - so you will need to wait for your heroes to heal, spells to cook and troops to build as you always do after attacking.
