Oh my goodness! I thought I was the only one to think it kind of fishy that just when I needed green beans to fill the last of my boat order I could not find a single ad for them in the DD! I thought I was just being paranoid.

I am at level 36 and I can't believe there's so much to the game that I didn't know. I never exactly understood how the RSS works... This is the first time I read about the need to keep your ads running; I had no idea! How do you do this? All I've been doing all this time is filling the slots available to me every once in awhile, and leaving whatever items they are to sit. I had assumed that once I put something in my RSS it would immediately get posted in the DD. am I wrong? And what's the big deal about getting more slots?

The more slots you have in your RSS, the more things you can list for sale and get it out of your barn.

Every five or six minutes, you can tap on an item that is still in you shop and tap on create ad. You get a new one every six minutes I think. It used to be 30. The ad stays until the item is sold or three hours which ever happens first. You can feasibly end up with an ad on every last item.

As far as finding things for sale, I find that my GC friends have more for sale than the folks in the DD unless it is a common item. I had a heck of a time getting carrots yesterday.

The "Advertise" button is checked by default, so if you just put items in your stand without unchecking that, the first item you put up will have an ad.

It stays for three hours, or until the item is purchased.

You can place new ads every five minutes. (Edit the item in your stand to add an ad to it if it doesn't have one, or put up a new item and it will have an ad.)

Think carefully about which items you place ads on. If it's something rare, people will flock to your stand...but the item will be bought in seconds, and then your ad will be gone. If you place your ad on something that doesn't sell as fast, like bacon and eggs, you won't get a mad rush, but the ad will stay up much longer.

And what's the big deal about getting more slots?

Not quite sure what you mean by this. A lot of people like having a lot of slots in their RSS. You can get extra slots by paying diamonds for them, or for free by adding friends. Some people have hundreds. Very convenient for wheating, since it gives you a lot of space to dump the wheat.
