actually I do believe spending zero on this game is an achievement worth being proud of, esp if you are lvl 100+. It show's your dedication and patience.

So what if you're TH10 and they are still TH8? That just means you'll get bored of the game sooner than they will, meaning they'll get more enjoyment out of the game for longer than you in the end, if you assume you both play until max lvl 10 for example. They will get many more months of enjoyment and will not have spent a dime.

$10-$20 is nothing nowadays, and anyone can easily spend that to buy all 5 builders up front. But to get all 5 builders by earning them through achievements and removing shrubs is respect-worthy, in my eyes

For me the real challenge of the game is to progress through the game without spending money. This makes the game fun. If you spend money on the game what do you do next. Exactly: Spend more and more money because you haven't learned to advance without paying.
Just my opinion.
FYI I am a TH8 lvl 84 grinding my skull walls.

i dont remember if ive spent 20 or 30AUD but whatever gets you those last two builders. i got them within the first two weeks of playing. im planning to spend another 10AUD asap after playing for 6 months just for gemming afew hours here and there (convenience), not for full storages or days of upgrade time.
