Hey Tink! Thanks for doing your best to keep the forums working well. I would suggest that this issue is in fact debatable:
There are two extremes here: one is to say that we never name anyone, the current forum policy. This covers against the unfairness you mention of an innocent person being blacklisted. The other would be to name everyone at the slightest suspicion of scamming. This would cover against the unfairness you didn't mention - of allowing scammers to get away with their actions, sometimes repeatedly.
Though it is hard to effect in practice, there is some middle ground which is not allowed for by the "one rule fits all" policy of the forum. For example, I had 40 expansion items taken from me recently. The trader did not return the promised 40 trade items and stopped responding to PMs. I waited an hour. I then posted on the forum asking if others had experience with this player. Within about half an hour around ten people wrote back to me saying they were aware of previous scams from the same GC user, sometimes providing copies of PM exchange or links to previous postings reporting a scam from this player. So I gave a report of this evidence to the forum. That's all it is, a report of what happened to me and to others. Given the weight of evidence I would suggest this was a reasonable thing to do. People are just trying to keep a good friendly environment going![]()
