About 6 months ago I was running 2 accounts and I was becoming way to obsessed with the game. About 5 months ago I took a 2 week hiatus to figure out my priorities. I have found that that helped but I am starting to return to the obsessed stage. If I go missing for a couple of weeks you know why.
However i do think that coc can be played as more of a hobby. You just need to balance your priorities.

Ps adding a poll to this woul be interesting.

while you're right that addictions are a bad thing I think its a little near sighted to limit your conversation to CoC. yes it can be an addictive game but no more so than any other, and lets not limit it to just games. people can get caught up in their hobbies to the point of neglecting other parts of their lives, but it's not the game's/hobby's fault. you can't blame the lake when your wife leaves you because you spend all your free time fishing and you cant blame the internet when you get fired for wasting all your time looking at LOLcats.

Not really big into this philosophy stuff. Clash of Clans is intertainment, so why not be able to do something that entertains for hours a day. That is like saying I don't want to hang out with my friends for hours because what else could I have done. This is the best form of entertainment. I have friends in this game and can play for hours without being bored. We have one life so why not use our life the way we want to instead of having people like you analyzing about how much we play this game. You don't know everybody's situation, kind of sounds like you are generalizing all the people who play this game for many hours. I personally love this game, and for me having to hang out with friends is draining for me, it is hard for me to entertain people for long periods of time so why can't I play clash of clans for hours. Anyways, let people choose how they want to spend their life, we don't need the philosophy behind our life choices.

    clash on....yeah clash on
Not as bad as some people, but I have reached points where I skip going out with my family on a walk or something because I'm boosting. For me, family is important, so if I'm skipping out on spending quality time with them because of an addiction then it is bad.

Yes, of course it is about entertainment, but you have to balance priorities. While clash may be what you enjoy, and you may find entertaining people rather exhausting, (I'm the same) you'll find that spending time with fellow people can be far more fun and satisfactory. Also preserving links is always great. Being friendless is never a good idea.
    Thanks icey for the sig!

Is this supposed to be like a debate or just a heads up to people? lol. no offense intended...

but, of course, anything in excess can be bad. there's no question about it. playing too many video games can adversely affect you. it has me. I'm definitely socially awkward and kinda reclusive and I think it has affected my attention span...possibly. I played WoW for a long time and even raided a lot (hardcore) so this is a little more casual for me. But yes, if you play a lot and are cancelling family events and/or social events to play then without a doubt it would probably be in your best interest to ease off a little...or a lot.

but I think some people just have addictive personalities. if not games, maybe drinking, or something else.

To me it really isn't. Every time I login I collect my resources, usually start upgrading a building, have a 1-minute chat with my clan members, raid, then select my troops for my next raid. Takes like 15 minutes

Ahh and an interesting fact- Playing on iPods and other devices basically kill the little chemicals that help you go to sleep. Ik that i lie awake for 30-60 minutes after playing coc before bed. I suggest not going on any devices within half an hour of trying to go to sleep.
U know im actually having this problem and I'll try to go without it before sleeping.Cheers
