gold vs elixir

I go for the elixir, as it is used to prepare my army. Of course, when i'm saving up for upgrading my defenses, i go for the gold.

In general, wich one is more important?

And by the time to arrive to TH7 and further dark elixir becomes the most important.

The obvious fact is u should try to keep your raids profitable, so u don't loose elixir in the process, but elixir is extremely abundant

Gold is far more important than elixir as it upgrades your defences that make sure your elixir and other recourses are defended. Elixir has limits as to how much you can spend it on. Me im a xp lv 74 town hall 8 who has 4.5 million elixir right now because i have no other elixir upgrades.
Gold is far superior.

Depends on how you are playing but since I hit "Next" a lot (and upgrading walls when some builds up), gold is the one resource I am always lowest on.

Elixir and Dark Elixir are always maxing out unless I just spent a chunk for an upgrade on something.

I'll even throw a bunch of archers and barbs sometimes at an almost empty mine if I know I have enough troops queued up to replenish them upon my return from the raid. I'll also gladly lightning for gold. I'm happy to trade 20K+ elixir from lightning for 10K or more gold although the lightning I tend to want to hold onto 2 in case a mortar presents problems during a raid so usually don't use them for zapping unless low on gold.

Can't remember the last time elixir has been low.

Elixir is more abundant than gold. People protect their gold more because it is more valuable.

Back about a month ago when I was a super-noob, I used to think, elixir is way harder to come by. Than I read through these forums and learned to farm and raid properly, and it became very clear, GOLD is number 1 resource, than I would say dark elixir as its so hard to come by when compared to elixir. But as stated above...if your playing the game properly, which is by going through these forums and reading up on all the good guides, you will find gold to be the most needed, especially when you start getting to higher level defenses.
