I couldn't care less about clan wars if putting my TH inside my walls is going to cost me 300+ of both resources at TH10 for each attack against me. I would much rather leave my TH outside and only lose 1K of each resource.

I would gladly accept the resource losses on defense if it meant I had greater access to resource gains on offense with a significant drop in nexting. And that's completely separate from the issue of clans wars.
The end of TH sniping would usher in a whole new era of high stakes 'Come at me, Bro' gameplay. Lets do this, Super Cell - show me the targets and I'll provide the skull cracking.

Yeah but now we are talking about 2 separate things I think... resources and clan wars. I have a feeling clan wars is going to be based on trophies. That will lead us to the same dilemma as we have now... trophy push or farm... but change trophy push with clan wars.
I would love to see a game plan that would up the ante for protecting your TH... but I have a feeling that aspect of the game will not change. You will have to pick... clan wars/trophies or resources... and how things cost to upgrade at TH10, I know which path I will choose.
Yeah, I don't know what will happen, if clan wars is in the update or what format it would be if it is included - I'm basically just speculating off the gossip so you're probably right that I'm coming at it form a slightly different angle than you are.
I am skeptical that Super Cell would attempt to induce any sort of semi-permanent push mode on the Clash community and expect that to be anything other than a wildly unpopular option. I just have to think that Super Cell survey data saw the question of "do you like to push all the time? met with an emphatic "NOOOO!!" I have met a lot of clashers and it seems that the community is heavily weighted towards those who value base building over intense multi-player battles.
So my reading of Tay's remarks is more that the structure will be in place to protect the Town Hall - it seems to me to be a logical complement to the new loot system too which inched us just a bit closer to incentivizing multi-player battles. But a full throttle move towards "OMG, TROPHIES EVERYONE, TROPHIES!!!".....eh, I'm skeptical that they'd try that. Of course I could be totally wrong in inferring this and your complaints could end up being spot on.
It could imply new loot bonuses/penalties for destroying or preserving town halls, which could also be a part of clan wars.

When I hear "emphasis of protecting your townhall", it makes me think that we might get a loot bonus for successfully defending during a battle. Just a thought, but that would be a cool upgrade.
Maybe their increasing the league bonuses again?
