    Howdy All! A few questions...

Needless to say, I'm new to the game and to the forum. I've been looking around here for awhile and used the search but I haven't found the answers to some of my questions and I was hoping some of you could help me. I'm not saying the answers aren't here, but it is a little overwhelming to try to read everything and, (especially for me), to remember everything I've read. Please understand if I'm putting this in the wrong place or something.

I am really enjoying this game, though!

    Questions...

Is it possible to change the name of your farm?

I had a boy named Tom visit me and offer to find things for me which has been a wonderful help but after using him around 4 or 5 times, I read something in the forum about paying him! He hasn't asked me for payment so I hope I don't get a bill for umpteen diamonds at some point in the future!!

I know the game would be more fun with friends but I'm not sure how to go about that. I clicked on the smiley face when I visited someone's farm out of the paper and I also clicked on the little ribbon thing. I have a couple of people on my friends list and I have one that says following but I'm not sure what the difference is. The follower is not on my friends list.

Can you play this game on the computer or only on your mobile device?

I wish I could enlarge my barn and silo much faster, it seems that I never get the supplies needed but I know I'm impatient. I read about wheating and tried that but I know my silo isn't really big enough. I try to sell things in the stand to make more room but no one really buys much so now my spots are filled. The only thing that REALLY seems to sell quickly is the chocolate chip cookies. Now I'm wondering what makes them so special and should I be holding on to them for some reason?

Are all the things I see on Greg's Farm going to be available as I level up in the future? I see so many cute things!!

I'm sorry for being such a bother but I really appreciate any and all help!

The new player link already given is great for information. As for why people buy up your cookies, its because it uses a sugar item. Where lower level players often have an abundance of sugar and dairy, higher levels often have to strain/modify their production in order to produce items that require sugar and/or dairy. So all those products and sugar/dairy gets bought up by higher players so they can focus on other things.

As for clearing out your silo, try to find a price for whatever crop you use which makes them sell in a speed you find good.

On to befriending players, IOS users can use both GC (gamecenter) and FB (facebook), android players can only use fb to connect. For both methods there is a separate thread where you can post and try to find some friends.
It doesnt even matter which level difference there is between various players since every level area tends to make something that other level areas lack. I already mentioned the sugar/dairy difference but this counts for various other products as well. Its often good practise to have friends higher, same and lower level. Everyone can help everyone, just try and find out what you need and what you can contribute .

It's not just because it uses a sugar item, cookies are in demand because they are used to make cheesecakes. If you suddenly find you need cheesecake and don't have any cookies to hand, you need to buy the cookies quickly.

You won't get a bill from Tom, but one day he will tell you that you have to pay if you want to use him in future.

At a low level, it might be useful to sell stuff to Tilly and the gang (the farm visitors) rather than have it hanging around in your RSS. However, if you can take the time to grow soya beans, that is a cash crop that sells well because it is used not only in feed, but also in soy sauce, which is constantly in demand at a higher level. Feed also sells well, so using your crops to make and sell feed is also a good way to make coins. It's all about supply and demand.

Most things you see on Greg's farm will become available to you as you level up, with the possible exception of prizes for past special events, such as the cupid statue and the sled. Seasonal decorations become available with seasonal updates.

    Happy farming!

Yes. You can Change your farm name. The little gear at the top left is the place to go. While you are there you should also go to advance settings and scroll to the bottom and enable the diamond confirmation button. This will help you avoid accidentally using diamonds speeding up a crop

You have Tom for an introductory time period. Use him to fetch what you need, or at least the highest priced item you can make so you can sell it and make some coins. After he is done, it will cost to hire him. He will fetch for you but if he comes back with less than a max of nine items you can tell him no and he will sleep for two minutes and you can try again. After you buy he sleeps for two hours. He is a lazy bugger.

Like you were told you can add friends through Game Center, but another thing to do is add your GC ID in your signature, so folks here know you want friends. Then when you post you can get more friends. Got to settings at the top and then edit signature on the lower left. Don't forget to save it. Friends are essential to get people to buy from your shop. Also you get a free ad every five minutes. If you still have things in your shop, just tap on them to create ad. If there is a diamond there, the ad isn't free yet.

No you can't play the game on your PC. It is only supported on mobile devices. Apple or android.

There is a whole forum for those new to Hay Day. You are currently in the general forum, go back to Hayday from the bread crumbs at the top here and look for the new to hay day forum. It is small right now, but the new people tips post contains links to questions people have asked in the past and should help. While your barn and silo are small now, what you really need is coins. Sell everything you make because as you level up, you will need coins to buy your next machine.

Good luck and feel free to keep asking questions. You can add me on Game Center if you want. I have two farms, take your pick!
