Is it worth getting barbarian king to 17 at town hall 8?

I'm a long way from it, with him only level 6, but after I my defensive building and troops upgrades are done, I was thinking of just farming for gold and DE, so I wondered how far I could take him, so I looked it up and with a level 4 DE storage( 80k holding capacity) I can get him to level 17, now my question is it worth sitting at th8 just for that, after everything else is done?

Just wondering, opinions welcome.

King is maxed at LVL10 TH8.

TH8 will only let you go to BK10. He's a beast at 10 though and well worth the investment IMO.

As mentioned, he can only go to lvl 10 at TH8 but you should definitely max him out, I did.

If you have maxed all your defenses, lab upgrades and walls, I think you would probably be better off just upgrading to town hall 9. I think the DE farming will be more efficient up at TH9 since you will have a stronger army that will give you a better shot at big DE raids against TH9s and TH10s especially with lvl 6 balloons and lvl 6 giants.

JMHO and take it with a grain of salt since I'm only TH7 currently. But just based on my DE farming experience (I have lvl 5 BK and lvl 2 hogs as TH7) - the best DE loot is in those higher level bases and those key lvl 6 troops - loons and giants will get you to those storages much better than lvl 5 troops.

I never focused on the king with the upgrades but now that I am nearing completion of TH8, the king is at Level 9.
So if you don't rush your TH, Level 10 for your king should come just naturally while you are maxing your base.

This is true!

Also remember that you have the AQ to get at TH9 and you need her pretty much minute 1.

Max level is 10. I got mine to 9 at town hall 8.

well BK is capped at lvl 10 for TH8, so im not sure if u mean lvl 10 or lvl 7. either way, get him to lvl 10, hes a boss and his gold fist is cool, he finally can 1-shot those 250-HP buildings, and its another ability lvl!

I forgot he maxed at 10, and just looked at an upgrade chart cost for him and went down to where he costs around 80k which is level 17, so that's where that came from.
Since it is only level 10 I will defiantly be maxing him out. Thanks everyone.
