Spread your storages out; if I was to attack you I'd come right at your TH, lure the BK and throw minions at it, then giants + WB and a rage spell, all your storages are wide open at that point.

If you have put your teslas beside your exposed TH I'd steal 39% which is max loot and leave if i was feeling crotchety. Likely I'd just roll over the base. Ballonions would destroy you right now, so I'd stay in gold III or below and farm gold like crazy

Most likely you haven't collected recourses and your storages were probably to easy to get to. Next time you have a shield don't automatically attack, wait for your shield to end.

How can I lose 450,000 elixir and then lose 350,000 1 hour later? I've been trying to upgrade my giants but can't save enough to ever get there! Ready to give up....... Help

The enemies maybe just destroyed enough of your base to get resources but not enough to give you a shield.

my suggestion is to check the replays. If they are all under 40% destroyed base then you shouldn't have a shield.
