From TH7 on My go-to balanced army was:
as my base; 8 WB, 8 Giants, two of each in every rack, takes 8 min to build...
*you can add another Giant to have 12 and 10 min train time as well.. but the numbers are the biggest factor for the T1-Troops.*
Then an Archer-heavy support of Barch/BAM/BAG builds (usually 100 or more Archers, and the rest barbs, gobs, minions)
This compo can get to most 2-layer stores.. 3 if you pack a Rage spell or maybe a heal..(or if the base has low level turrets/walls)
For this strategy, I don't use the WB/Giants every raid, only on the stores behind 2-layers of walls.. this compo also can win you 50% on some bases and you can earn the league bonus as well.
just refill the barrax before you raid, every time! if you need to use the WBs or Giants, then start them first in the Rax, before you look for another base to loot. they should be half done by the time you make it back and your faster-building-farming-troops can quickly fill the camps..
my 2nd go-to army (Resource Army) was 8WBs and the rest a pretty equal mix of Arch and Gob (2 Rax Archer, 2 Rax Goblins) or 8 WB and Barch.. both cook fast and are relatively cheap armies to field...(I always have a few minions too, they are simply useful farming options) Arch/Gob resource, Barch was more Trophy oriented as Barbs deal more Damage.
you also can request a CC full of Giants to help out too.. they distract while your other troops deal damage/take resources..
