ahh okok like that! 2-3 weeks ago i had some similar upgrades like the archer towers.. in those weeks i made my whole town from lv 6 walls to lv 7 walls
vacation with nothing to do but coc farming.. lovely
now i'm left with some more expensive upgrades and ofc, my walls are suffering now, own fault :<

I would defo go ahead and upgrade all walls for level 7TH, there not that expensive plus theres alot of loot at TH7.
We are a war clan and it is a must to max your walls in TH8 before you go up...why? we have a war at the moment and even TH9 gowipe...with low level AQ and 4 spells can't 3star our bases.
Their gowipe was perfectly executed and pekkas were properly funneled to go in...it's just that when there is a properly built TH8 base it is very hard to penetrate those with max walls....

I've been having the problem too of full elixir and not enough gold; not enough elix dumps at th8.
I do this to waste elix - start upgrading a barrack, cancel the upgrade. It consumes half of the elix costs.
Do that a couple times and it'll help control your elixir.
Disappointed that Supercell is aware of this huge difference between gold and elix and hasn't remedied the problem yet.
Skull walls looks good I love it I'm n mid base of townhall 8 which I left 100 walls.. When enemy loon your base they ll think u were serious player coz of walls lol so I suggest u to upgrade walls but u already maxed out in townhall 8 so sure townhall 9 gonna be long journey... ND we can upgrade walls by elix yes and I'm going to stay in townhall 9 long forever
Like everyone else here has said, it's personal preference.
I just maxed out my walls, which I had Level 7 and started my walls after the rest of my Town Hall was maxed and it took me 3 weeks to max them all, but in the long run it will be worth it. If you can judge your upgrade of your town hall and how fast your can upgrade walls, you should be able to go to TH9 with 20 walls left and finish.
I believe that after this you should learn to just upgrade your walls as you go along upgrading defenses, as this will help with not having so many when you're done. That's just my opinion.
I would deffinatly go up to TH9. Sitting at TH8 just to max walls is a fools errand in my opinion. (Only exception beeing if you wanna stay TH8 forever).
What are the possitive thing of staying TH8 to finnish all walls?
-Get to attack TH7s with only 10% loot penalty.
Disadvantages of staying TH8:
-Unable to spend Elixir and Dark Elixir.
Advantages of going to TH9:
-You can spend your elixir to prepare your TH9 stay by upgrading army camps, labratory and spell factory. All wich makes farming easier for you.
-You get to spend more DE on your Barbarian King, aswell as unlocking the Archer Queen.
-Access to new tech.
Disadvantages of going to TH9:
-You lose the ability to farm TH7s for loot.
-TH10 people can now attack you. But it does not matter since you are gonna dump all your resources nonstop, so nothing to steal from you.
So in my opinion going to TH9 when you only have walls remaining is the better call by far.
Skulls are neccesary imho. I have all skulls at th9, sitting at max loots and they just snipe me. Dont mention if you war...you will need it. It is painfull to max skulls, but later at th9 maxing walls is fun, because u can upgrade with elixir too.
