Level 8 walls before town hall 9 or not?

I am currently TH8 with everything maxed except walls are only level 7, do i upgrade all walls to level 8 or complete TH9 upgrade?

i did this, and i dont regret it, it took me 20 days of upgradig walls, at the same time i got 3 level 6 teslas

Its more of a status that shows you are a real farmer(and with lots of time)

Most gemmers do not have great walls imo, and those black walls really scares people away haha.

but the best is level 9 walls, which requires 3 wall breaker(lv5).

but maybe few months into the future yeah.

i moved to th8 with all purple walls, and intend to move on to th9 with maxed walls too
so far doing 2-4 black walls per day, hopefully can increase after i get those major upgrades done.

This is really a matter of opinion more so than science. Getting all your walls to lvl 8 is going to take quite some time and if you are truly maxed in all other aspects of your base that means you will have a lot if idle builders for the entirety of that time.

To me I value builder efficiency over walls, I would say go to TH 9 enjoy 25 more walls and having two xbows that snipe my wall breakers just as they are about to crack into, your resources.

It is pretty much now or never. If you want them, it is far easier to get them over with at TH 8. You can do it at Th 9, but why have to earn 100 million extra gold with the loot penalty bearing down on you when you can just do it earlier, right? Easy call for me, but it is personal preference in all honesty.

I'll stick at TH8 as long as possible but i reckon ill get bored after a week of having 5 builders free when i could be using the elixer to upgrade my camps if i went to TH9 and continued with walls.

one other thing to consider though other than the potential hit for the 25% penalty on attacking th7s is how much time you lose by waiting, each day he doesn't go to th9 is a day where 5 builders sit idle. so if it takes 10 days he lost 50 days of builder time. you can always spend cash on walls in between build but you can never make up for the lost time of the builders (except with gems, but i'm assuming they aren't in the equation here).

in the very worst case the loot penalty would cost him 25,000,000 (i.e. he only attacks th7s). at 4 million raided per day it would take 25 days to get the loot for all lvl 8 walls, that is 125 days of lost builder time! obviously that number goes up or down based upon how much you can loot per day.
