Agreed. I've been using all archers since th8, 25secs to train and cheap. can't be bothered anymore training giants, wallbreakers, healers, goblins. You're constantly balancing each barracks so they all finish training at the same time (at least seconds apart). Tried once using them again but failed miserably.

p.s., Your poll should've had...'i play clash of clans everyday because i'm bored!!!'

Yeah, it's tough to stay motivated with Clash. I've been at it for 1 1/2 yrs now, and I'm closing in on maxed defenses. The 7.5-8mil gold upgrades take me a week to farm, which is fine since the upgrades take 2 weeks or more to complete.
I used to raid religiously in the beginning, then slowed down after the wb ai change. Forced myself to stay motivated til i farmed all Lego walls & 16 lava wall pieces. After the loot change in December, i haven't been able to touch them anymore.

At this point it feels like work, so I'm spending my time elsewhere.

i understand the predicament that Supercell is in; do sweeping changes & alienate your whales, or keep the status quo & lose out on innovative ideas to competing clones.

good for them on sticking to their guns & resisting the addition of loot. Hope this "exciting" style of gameplay works for them.

After farming all level 9 walls, I took a break. When I came back from the break, I lost all motivation to continue raiding. I think I'm attacking twice a day now. I still enjoy talking to clan mates. My clan is pushing soon, so I'll hopefully have fun playing clash again!

The thing I love about Clash is the timeless principle of "the true joy is found not in the end but in the journey towards that end."

Example: when I was a kid I used to play World of Warcraft (WoW). About four months ago I decided to re-download it and try it out again. They'd changed it so that players would rush through the entire game just to get to the last few levels (new content). It got to the point where I'd try and follow the quests, storyline, etc... And appreciate the world Blizzard has built, but the XP rate was so high that I'd find myself trying to finish content that was already 5 levels beneath me. Needless to say, I quit after a day.

The point is, CoC can be boring and repetitive. And it is, much more so than back in the lower THs.
Despite this, I made myself a promise when I started that I would reach end game no matter what, and I'd get there as honestly as possible (maxing things out, no shortcuts).

I've now maxed out TH8 but am holding off upgrading to TH9 so I can finish off the walls. Every wall is so painstakingly slow and tough to upgrade that sometimes I question the sanity of doing it, but in the end I kind of get a kick off knowing that every wall upgraded is a step closer towards my goal.

So many people these days (especially kids) just want to get to the top with as little effort as possible, probably so they can show off to their friends or prove something to themselves. And marketers know it; this is the big market of today, and so they cater to it (as in the case of WoW). The thing is, by doing this you only end up hurting yourself. If you had unlimited money and bought 100 million gems and boosted yourself to TH10, I'm sure you'd feel great about it. But then you'd probably get bored after a day and find something new to pass the time. Not to get too deep here, but this is the kind of paradoxical mindset that's being pushed in today's consumer society.

Hell, I'm not one to point the finger, I've been a spoiled little brat for most of my short life. Back to the previous WoW example, when I played as a kid I found that I really wanted to get to the high levels but was too lazy to put in the work, so I simply gave up. I am however starting to realize that there's so much more to gain from slow, honest progress which in time builds up to something bigger. CoC is a good example, but this also and especially applies to slow and boring routines in life (such as exercise and homework) which, in the long-run, produce the best results that lead to the biggest natural 'high' and an honest, timeless sense of achievement.

Anyway, I digress. There probably is much more that Supercell can do to add content and reduce the repetitive elements of the game, but it is fine just as it is for now. This post has gone waaay further than I originally intended it to, but looking back I feel that I really had to get this off my chest

Poll needs some kind of middle ground. I don't find the game to be boring and repetitive but I don't enjoy it as much as I used to either.

Bring 1 gem boost back and I'll buy 28,000 gems, along with many other farmers buying gems... *Cough* It will make a profit

People whine about the loot system. And it gets changed. And yes farming is harder now. It's called man up and farm active bases near your level. And a games get repetitive if you play to much. But whatever. Just my two cents
