    Question [HELP] Hints for trophy pushing (to Master 1/Champs) as a TH9 ?

    Hi guys, I'm gonna need a little help today.

    My clan trophy pushes and my goal is to go up at least to Master 1, and if I can make it, to Champs.
    I've successfully been up to 2800 (Master 2), but I kinda fell I'm hitting a wall and I'm really stuck, I struggle to get 50%, and I skip a lot of bases...
    I can play for long raids, stay online between them, I don't really mind. I just got my iPad near my desk and collect my collectors every few minutes.
    My only requirement is, I won't buy gems. I still got around 900 from my latest push to Master and am willing to use them, though.

    A few reminders about a TH9's limitations :
    • Army camp space (220, makes barching harder)
    • No freeze spells (attacking Infernos is a PITA)
    • No Infernos (need an anti-hog base, else, I'll be 100% every single time)


    Because a picture is better than a thousand words, here is my base and the level of my troops :

    (Can't really see it but the king is going from lvl12 to lvl13).

    And here are my troop's levels :

    (All the pink ones are maxed).

    My defense logs since I've been trophy hunting :



    So, a few questions :
    • Any general advices ?
    • Any advices on my base / suggestion for a new one (current defense logs above) ?
    • Considering my troop levels and my army camps spaces, what army composition would you advice me to use (and which spells should I use/which CC troops should I ask for) ? I definitely suck at barching, especially with only 220.
    • Which CC troops should I ask as defense ? (currently asking for wiz, my clan only has lvl 5 though)

    ahh this is just general advice
    offense>defence especially when your a th 9
    th 9 gets smashed in defence up high (ur defence log is looking decent enough)
    wiz, drag, minion in cc best for defending
    the key for champ is patience! next next next till you find a base that your comfortable attacking with
    since your not using gems wait for your spells! (spells help heaps)
    carry at least 1 lightning always helps to get the last or first star
    onion (baloon , minion) is a good combo i see you are using it
    20-26 baloons and rest minions
    is a good combination (baloons deployed in a straight line with minions right bh them)
    remember to lure cc and heroes! use a couple of minions to snipe off exposed building as well
    ahh yeh if you need anything just ask

    I've only pushed to 2718, my patience gets the best of me.


    But what got me over the hump into masters with Th9 fire-power (I was a very new Th10) was going for 50%.

    My first attempt at masters, I tried to go for 2 stars. Which worked fine up until 2500. At that point search times got insane. My second attempt I was technically farming 90% of the time right up to 2718

    Get your archer queen to 20+, she is a huge help picking off that last few %

    Always carry as many spells as you can and bring both heros. There a HUGE insurance card.


    Don't bother with infernos. Look for bases that have them heavily centralized and pick off the outer rim buildings. Chances are you're going to see lvl 3 inferno tower after level 3 in multi-target mode. Just don't bother attacking these directly, its waaaay too risky.

    I see you are using an anti hog base. you can easily modify it to make it anti golem too. just take out a peice of wall from the wall that separates each defensive compartments from each other to make a clear passage for golem to continue to the other defensive building and go around the base leaving the other army exposed. also having spring traps in place of those walls can work really good.

    My other tip is to use more protection for CC by having harder to be lured. Place all your teslas just outside the CC range to make it much harder to lure and make the attacker use more troops for luring, something they did not expect. Hopefully some of them will run out of patience and loose the raid.

    With balloons minions, try to make sure you have both heroes on always. only deploy them when you need the extra %. Heroes can easily get you 10% on battles.

    Btw I like your base. and I think it's doing a good job for TH9. I like also how you placed two giant bombs between wizard tower and cannon which have medium HP compared to other defensive buildings
