Forum Choice Awards - Final Call for nominations!

ok i have no problem with the organisers of this forum awards
And personally i think they are doing a good job in the amount of effort they put into putting this together
i saw this happening... obviously it was going to be a popularity contest in the end
but the amount of people asking to be nominated, *shakes head* losing the purpose and derailing the thread

GameloverHD is awesome. He is nice and noticed me and even nominated me before I even knew him--which I'm very thankful for-- nor knew about the category I was nominated for.

However, I have a concern. Why does the category little forumer big contributer keep increasing in posts everytime Gamelover surpasses it? For example, when Gamelover had 400 posts, the category said "Someone less than 500 posts"--this is the original category--;however, once Gamelover got over 500 posts, the category went to "Someone less than 600 posts", and now that Gamelover is over 600 posts, the category is "Someone less than 700 posts". At first I didn't say anything, but now that it is at 700 posts, that isn't even a small forumer anymore. I feel that award won't mean much if it keeps changing to adjust to one person in the list.

I feel Gamelover deserves to be nominated for sure, but perhaps move him to another category since he has already surpassed a small forumer?

I don't see your name anywhere in my post... but yes George and Shiv are kids. And no there is not any problem, if those kids are adequate at the organisation. In this case, they are clearly not.

If you cast your mind back to some of the great events of the forum, Forum Elite, Winter 2013 Trophy hunt etc.. ALL were organised to perfection. This, is the forum awards. it should be an even bigger event than both of those. But poor organisation has let it down, and it has become, as Perez said, a 'joke.'

The simple fact is, that the people running this event, are not the correct people to do so.

This event may be going downhill but it isn't a full-blown failure. We need more supporters instead of people like you who don't admire the effort the organizers have put in to make this event worth it.

I think the idea was good in concept, but I don't see how anyone could take it seriously with the amount of nonsense and useless posts in this thread.
Is this a forum/supercell sanctioned? The original post was stickied so shouldn't Steve or Nick be helping out with this?

For instance there is a category for the most helpful forumer with less than 500 posts. I would think this would go to someone that posts occasionally and only when they have something really insightful to say. However one of the nominees has exceeded the post limit and has several hundred posts in just a few days! What is it that this award is supposed to represent?
EDIT, I see that the award has changed from less than 500 to less than 700 posts, which in my opinion indicative of the problem

In my opinion this thing has really gone of the rails and it would be best to cancel it.

That would be me I believe the award is supposed to represent that newer forumers can also have a big impact (of course I could be ENTIRELY wrong hehe). I have exceeded the 500 posts and then the 600 posts but it is mostly with meaningful information. I try and post on every thread in which the answer hasn't been given tons of times and help some people out. That is probably the reason I have exceeded the limit twice.

Yes, the thread did sort of go downhill from a certain point but the organizers are still putting in loads of effort to try and save it and that should be respected

Wow thanks for the compliments Yes, I did notice it kept increasing for me which is why I have already asked Shiv to just move me over (and two other people [counting you] have agreed to have me moved over to Mr(s) Helpful). You are right, 700 isn't exactly "small" anymore and I don't think the post count should increase JUST for me.

You use the word 'effort' a lot, and I agree that they are putting effort in. Unfortunately, putting effort into something does not mean they are doing a good job.

As for the haters, the first version did flop, so instead of saying this is going down hill how about you give some reasons? If all you are going to do is spam this thread with your hate then stay out of it.

How about instead of hating, you support it if it goes wrong after then you can show your hate.
