I personally prefer 4 of level 5+ wizards and the rest archers. Archers as a sort of buffer when my cc actually get lured out (they have to at least destroy 1 tower to do that) before my surprise quartet makes their appearence. One lvl 5 wiz does 255 damage per shot and four of them can one shot lvl 6 giants. Had several times when 20+ giants got blown off instantly and the attacker quit a few seconds later.
but as as from experience, drags in cc are a better bet than wizards or archers against baloons... And half the time i got raided in crystal league are with baloonions (too much gold in storage i guess). Wizards usually fell victim to the baloons that they shot down...
against hogs, wizards are way better than drags. Two lvl 5 wizards can stop a 30 hogs raiding army the instant they fire their first shot, and thats early.. A dragon would just chase around these swines while they are being healed and stripping my village of defenses, only to be taken out by their AQ later...
