Max Everything before upgrading TH ? Come on guys... think again!

This is fine at TH9 at trophies in the 1600s. But when you go to TH10 and nexting costs 1000 gold per click and you can't find any good bases worth raiding because TH8s are no longer worth it, you will be forced to increase your trophies.

When you increase your trophies to above 2000 where the concentration of TH9/10 live, you will now get raided by dragons, balloonions, and hog raids, all of which don't care if you have straw walls or lava walls, it's just your defensive buildings against their troops. I think you may be in for some butt hurt at early TH10 stages. Not too bad since your defences are not really too premie.

Either way, nice job on the walls. I'm a bit surprised you would go that hardcore on walls and neglect upgrading your defenses. That's very counter-intuitive base upgrading strategy, knowing the popularity of attacks that neglect walls (again, not at 1600s, more so in crystal and above).

My first point was that I'm so active it won't be so many chances to actually attack me. Therefor I am not too worried, even tho I will get much heavier attacks!

I agree with the OP. Maxin is slow and not that efficient.. I made the mistake that I maxed my walsl at th9 before I even started working on my def. And now, I can't be bothered to max it, I will start my th upgrade in 9 days. So my xbows will be on their way to level 3 in the same time.

As you see, my base is already very premature. Do I lose much gold etc? No. I play, and when someone attacks it's almost only people sniping my townhall. I'd say, rush smart!!

In the weekends is can attack more but during weeks I can attack 1-5 times sometimes even 0 . So with that said it's probably not that smart to rush townhall is it?

I am a new player (played for 2-3months), TH lvl 9, BK lvl6 going lvl 7, AQ lvl 5 and defenses lvl 1-2.. reached Master League for a 4th free builder...and my builder are 24/7 busy. I don't see any problem with upgrading TH first and leave the defense behind.

I recommend to max splash and farming troops before you're moving to TH9

are you use balloon as your primary troops?
if yes, then there is no point to say on TH8 because Lv.6 balloon is extremely stronger than Lv.5

if you use BARCH as your primary troops, then you make sure you don't have problem on elixir before you go to TH9 as you need 25 million elixir to max out lab, camps, sf and get your main lv.6 troops.

Sorry man, but this is just a bad advice. Your teachings are wrong, why don't you max your base out? Unless you are a gemmer that spends alot of $$$ on the game it will be easy to Max your base.

You sound like you didn't really read the thread... This is not an argument over whether it's hard or not to max, it's an argument against maxing because:
-Once you have Barch maxed lab upgrades aren't super useful (maybe except for wallbreakers, some spells)
-Splash damage is all you need in most cases to defend against typical farming armies (Barch, BAM)
-Sitting on maxed walls isn't smart since you're wasting time you could be using to farm more walls
-As sharonsym as posted here, defenses does not matter if you keep gold low. By doing this people are not inclined to do more than snipe town hall
-higher level troops and more camp space make farming easier

I like using loonians, but i would say that I use loons, bam, barch, or bag. They are all lvl 5 with minis lvl3
