First of all, most people agree that defenders in coc raids have the odds stacked against them and this idea generally buffs up defenses with the help of visiting clanmates.
1. When visiting a clanmate, a player will have the option of reinforcing one of the defensive turrets of the clanmate.
2. This is done by tapping on the selected clanmate's defensive structure and selecting the option: Reinforce
3. For a limited amount of time, (I propose 12 hours) the reinforced defense will gain a buff of 10% increase in attack speed and damage and gain a purple glow (similar to units effected by the rage spell) for the duration of the buff.
4. Each clan member is only allowed to buff one defensive structure for each clanmate once per day.
Edit: If a player ever became clanless, either leaving or being kicked out, any and all active buffs from clanmates will be deactivated to avoid people jumping clans to maximise the buffs for their village.
For upgrading, I propose a 'Helping Hand' sort of reinforcing (kinda like hayday) where each clan members could help in the construction or research by selecting help, and knock off a fraction of the current time remaining (I propose 1% of time remaining) for each clan member visiting. But this feature is limited to once per clan member per upgrade.
Edit: The 'help' number can be limited to a number of times for each upgrade/research (I propose 20) as to avoid people jumping clans to continously recieve helps from others.
These two features should be treated as seperate entities, while one can buff a clan member's turret once per day, the same person could at the same time helps up to 5 constructions and a research ongoing at the same village.
This idea is not entirely mine and any constructive critisism or support will be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Edit: New achivements related to the features can be added; Reinforce This! for the number of buffed turrets and Helping Hand for the the number of construction/research helped. With the appropriate numbers of gem rewards.

This idea could give more incentive for players to join and remain in clans (as i think what this game intended, giving the powerful advantage that clan castles provide).
Clans are also encouraged to have a diversity in players of different timezones (towers needed to be reinforced twice every 24 hours). As opposed to the clan castles, where players with roughly plays at the same time gets the most troop distribution)
