I look down on the tactic. Its not intelligent and not effective for the time requirements. I did a small amount of it early th7 but quickly learned more effective strategies that allowed me to take the full store instead of just a portion, or at least do a quick raid on full drills with cheap troops when i could find them.
With that said, i teach the people in my clan who do use it to be complete jerks about it. Kite the cc and heroes, kill them, then drop the lightning, leave without giving a shield. Idk why, i find it sort of funny. I still tell them they are foolish for the technique... But its funny to see the replays of people just being complete jerks.
As someone who regularly hits the storage cap for dark elixir, i still really dont care about lightning. Keep it up noobs. Dont learn the real ways to steal loot. I much prefer an occasional lightning if the alternative is everyone raids dark elixir like i did at th7/8.
The funniest forum posts to me are the people who assume there is no other way for th7s to make even the 10k for the BK but triple lightning. Myself and all of the permanent members of my clan have maxed bk and dark troops at th7 and quite a few of us have done the same at th8. Almost none of this has been via lightning on the storage. Its too innefficient.
I excuse a th7 who cant find a better way to get it, especially because th7 really doesnt take a ton of de to max everything. But th8s who triple lightning... I find it pitiful.
