Justin's idea of a new way to buy gems (with a lot of pics!)

But anyways here's my idea

I've always found getting gems a pain in the ♥♥♥, so presenting, A new way to buy gems! Gem Gift Cards! These would be gift cards for gems! Here's what they would look like:


WHAT?
Theres a new way to buy gems. Gem gift cards! These would be in the same gem amounts as there virtual counterparts and be available at major supermarket chains and online at shop.supercell.net

WHY?
For example Gems cost a few cents more than $20, that may not seem to be a big problem but that means, a $20 iTunes Gift Card will not adequate for the 1200 gems due to currency conversion which means parents will have to upgrade to a $50 iTunes card! (Yes, I know we have $30 Gift Cards but they aren't usually available in stores) for regular players, this is life, but to a parent with a child that wants gems wouldn't be happy to just waste $29 of iTunes credit.

Kids would also benefit as many downloaded the app on there parents account as they wouldn't need a password to get there gems.

Apple also gets a 30% cut of all in app purchases. By selling gems separately, Supercell could make more revenue by getting 99% out of that gem purchase. Supercell would also be able to direct undelivered gems more easily as it would be on there own system and not Apple's.

HOW?
These would hang just like any other gift card:

And be activated at checkout to prevent nosey hands from kids into getting the codes

You could also get them online at shop.supercell.com, where the code would be emailed to you or even automatically added to the base in question.

There would be another button next to the regular gem purchases like this


and it would pop up a panel in which then you type in the code.


Whew, That was the longest thread I have ever made, still looks small next to people like Mastermind and Saltin.

Shouldn't it be an amount of gems you can't get in the game? Because buying 1200 gems in a gift card is pretty much buying it in the game.

Thanks for the feedback, they also save money because 30% of the gem cost isn't going to Apple.

Nope, it's against Apple's Developer TOS to offer in-app purchases outside the Apple infrastructure. I'm not 100% certain about Google Play, but pretty sure it would be similar.
