I think it would be difficult for the programers to accomplish. As has already been stated, in some parts of the world it is night and in other parts it is daytime. I wouldn't want it to be nighttime on my farm when it is daytime here. Therefore, I did not take part in your poll.

It could be interesting, tho, if day and nighttime followed a farms time zone. Then when we visit a farm, the time difference would be apparent.

    That is an interesting thought.

It would be weird. I often farm late at night - or very early in the morning, if you like, and it would annoy me if my farm was in night mode while I was farming. Also I would feel uneasy creeping around others farms in the middle of their night looking for a toolbox. While the idea of sunset over the river is nice, I just don't think it's a practical idea. I voted, No!

    No night time

I agree with the others. Too difficult to work other farms if they're asleep.

I believe this could be accomplished. Why? (I'm a CoC player so using some basis from there).

In CoC, you are led to a global chat because CoC detects your location and redirects you to a server near you. This is often why those in a different country are stranded from global; because everyone there writes a language they can't understand .
This also applies to language within the game, but you can change that language.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hay Day 'borrowed' that information too. Therefore, the game could probably recognize your time zone, and act accordingly.
Therefore, the only issue now would be designing and programming how your _____ (no idea what you guys use) looks when it's night.

Could be interesting. A more enriched environment and some events only occur at certain times. Perhaps allow the user to set his time zone rather than accept his actual zone, so that people can farm in daylight when they tend to be playing. Maybe night mode only lasts two .. four hours. With +1..2 hours either side for sunrise / sunset.

Have some weird s*** happen at night. A parade of Zombies, dancing to "thriller", shuffling down the road. The legendary black beast that occasionally picks off the odd sheep. The odd howl from a wolf pack. Perhaps the odd, satanic sacrifice. The farmer's response, "Hand me my Winchester, Sam. I'm riding to kill".

You'd have to be careful implementing it. As soon as people struggle to play in the darkness they'll hate it, in spite of any gimmicky effects or animations. Two prerequisites would need to be fulfilled:

    * Game play is as good at night as in the day

    * It needs to add genuine, new opportunities rather than just mere effect. Otherwise it would get boring real fast. Night fishing, trying to catch, "The River Monster" - a giant catfish, for example.

What is it with all of these ideas regarding natural disasters and waste products and rot and wolves terrorising the sheep - and now zombies?!?!? Hay Day is an idyllic farming community where nothing bad happens and that's how it should stay. It's an escape from all the bad things in our lives, and we don't want them following us onto the farm. Ideas are supposed to conform to the Hay Day philosophy of do no harm, and it's thar philosophy that makes it so attractive to so many. Please don't try and destroy our Utopia!

    Hmm

I think it could work, I have the sims freeplay app and on there the time in the sims in time real time so if I go on at midday, it's midday and daytime on the game, if I go on at 9pm at night, then in the game it's 9pm and dark/ night time in the game

granted you don't visit other peoples game on the sims freeplay,

and I suppose if I'm nighttime and my farm is night, but I visit someone's farm from accross the world and it's day there and their farm is daytime may get a it complicated

    but would be quite cool

but like someone else said I play my game a lot at night/evening and I would be a bit depressed if my farm was constantly night time

Lol. I farm at odd hours, too. Definitely opposed to creeping. Funny that looking around someone's farm for a toolbox takes on a more sinister aspect when done in the dark as opposed to our daytime trespassing. I agree that nighttime farming would not be desirable to all. I don't like the idea of a darkened farm reminding me I should be sleeping when I am farming.
