I maxed out about everything at TH9 except walls because I knew farming would be tough at TH10, I did not expect it to be this bad. I have spend several hundred dollars on the game to this point and was happy to do it, I think the artists, designers, investors and engineers deserve a lot of money for creating a great game. I spent my gems only to free up builders when I had enough gold or elixir to start the next upgrade. To me, this was a justifiable use of gems as I was still farming and raiding the loot through hard work. Unfortunately, things at TH 10 are ridiculous. The cost of major defensive upgrades combined with a pitiful lack of loot makes playing more like a job than a game. It is no longer fun.
Here is a solution that could add fun and loot back to the game for higher level players:
Players would have the option of selecting a new mode of battle from the 'Attack' screen, call it Battle Royale (or something more creative)
You begin a progressive sequence of battles under the following conditions:
The sequence begins the same as the current 'Find a Match' process bringing you to the first base. In this mode, you do not have the option to proceed to another base, you attack the first base that cycles. If you win, in addition to the trophies and loot awarded as usual for success against that base (taken from your opponent), you receive a 10% bonus on top of the regular reward for your current trophy level. For each successful win without a loss, an additional 10% multiplier is applied to the bonus with the bonus compounded after each win. This would continue until you exited The Battle Royale mode or lost one match.
Example:
Gold 1, first win:
Loot and trophies taken from opponent: unchanged
Loot bonus for Gold League 1: 13,000 Gold 13,000 Elixir + 1,300 Gold BR Bonus and 1,300 Elixir BR Bonus
Gold 1, second win:
Loot and trophies taken from opponent: unchanged
Loot bonus for Gold League 1: 14,300 Gold 14,300 Elixir + 1,430 Gold BR Bonus and 1,430 Elixir BR Bonus
This progression would continue until a loss occurred or until you broke the progression by raiding in regular attack mode.
To keep it fair, some penalty would need to be applied for a loss, some percentage of your total loot would be appropriate.
You would, of course, be allowed to return to your base after a battle, revive and rebuild troops and proceed to the next battle. Again, upon resuming battle, there would be no option to pass on the first base without either resetting the mode or losing a match.
This would give players the ability to eliminate the nightmare of endless spinning for a decent base and create an alternative option for those of us who would like to keep playing but find the current system too unpleasant and time consuming. What do you think?
