When I hit TH9 my clan was about to start a trophy push so I went
L6 Balloons--->L5 Minions
next I went for farming troops and did them in the order of
L6 Giants--->L6 Barbarians--->L6 Archers.
so I went like a month and a half into lab upgrades before archers.

the difference between level 5 and 6 archers when someone attacks me is quite noticeable...

The biggest difference between lvl5 and 6 archers is the hair color...after that its the arrow flame color. Some might argue lvl5 archers are better cuz they have hoodies...i mean how awesome are hoodies in battle right? But then people may say why would you wear a hoodie when you have an awesome new hairdo....

The upgrade quite literally sucks. Did I do it? yup, but what else was I gonna spend my elixer on? But I did barbs and giants first tho. The biggest difference is probably the cool factor of lvl6 archers.
I feel the same way about lvl5 -6 wizards. The biggest difference is the cool factor. lvl5 wiz are just as good as lvl6. So I did goblins and wall breakers first because not only is the upgrade cheaper, but it is a big improvement on the troop, not just cool factor....or wow factor.

maybe stay at lv 5
Lev 6 archers, minions, and wizards are all over priced for the boost you get going from level 5 to 6. Yet in all cases, I noticed a difference in play.
When I was a th9 I did barbs, then archers, then giants. This was before giants got a boost.
Plus level 6 archers make you look way cooler, it gives that extra oomph!

yeah, like anyone really cares about those "exclusive" clans.
For the record, only Valkyries are below Archers in my upgrade priority at TH 9
I concur. Those 2 dps add up when theres like 70 of em on the field xD
