Hotfix: Half the spell damage to storages, so people can still use em but with like NO effect.Edit: Keep in mind this thread is about a solution. There's no getting around the fact that zapping is unfair. Please read through all the posts before posting to prevent duplicate arguments.
Many farmers are being faced by a similar problem. Our farming of DE is being hindered. Because our base isn't good enough to protect our resources? No. Because we aren't good enough to take DE from other players? No. It's because we're being hit with something that is impossible to defend against, zapping. This makes it difficult to save up DE, especially in large amounts for big upgrades (Especially with 1 gem spell factory boosts!).
The Problem: The bottom line of why zapping is unfair, is the fact that it can't be defended against. What's the response people get now when they complain about hogs? "Go use an anti-hog base." What am I supposed to do when someone drops 3-5 lightning spells on my storage? You can revenge, that is if they aren't constantly online/shielded and if they even have any resources. Not only this, but this "strategy" takes absolutely no skill or effort. It's used as crutch for those who can't farm DE, and it punishes those who can. Every other strategy in the game takes some skill and runs the risk of failure, why should this be any different? Why should this be a 100% guarantee to take resources you normally wouldn't be able to get?
Also don't start using the common "this is a war game, anything goes!" This game isn't a simulation of actual war, basically nothing at all in this game is realistic. It's a game, it's meant for entertainment. Games aren't very entertaining when they aren't balanced or fair, and zapping isn't very fun or fair.
The Solution: It's really quite simple. Just make lightning spells do the same damage to storages they do already, just not take any resources. Sometimes people use lightning spells to go from 49% to 50%, so this wouldn't hinder that.
Edit: There are multiple DE farming guides for TH7s. Not to mention zapping as a TH7 will just cripple you for when you go to TH8 because you won't be a good DE farmer.
Idea 2: Spell Shield: put a shield above a building that makes the lightning spell 'short circuit' or make it so there is like a wall.
Idea 3: Gem up your heros so that you end up with 0 DE
Idea 4: Overkill the ♥♥♥♥ out of the guy=
Does it matter who it's coming from? He agrees zapping is unfair, I'm just making a point about a solution for it. I don't know why you're getting so mad about it, wouldn't say I'm the one "crying"...
Personally I don't zap.

I don't know where you get your false sense of self-achievement but it becoming most amusing for me. However, I don't need you derailing my thread any further, unless you have a comment on my proposed solution stop responding.
Brandon is one of the best farmers in the game, I talked to him once when he visited our clan. I was mainly using the whole "zapping is a crutch" argument for TH7s who only know how to zap and when they go to TH8+ they won't know how to properly farm DE. I don't think just because Brandon does it makes it a fair strategy, but perhaps it can be seen as efficient while boosting.
♥♥♥♥ dude I'm far from crying. I don't zap DE but I also don't cry about it on the forums when it happens! It's part of the game... So sick of people crying about something that's a legitimate part of the game. Simple fix, you don't like it, quit playing the game. 😘
Interesting suggestions. I don't like the idea of a certain building absorbing the spell because that could hurt the spells effectiveness a lot. I'm not trying to destroy the spell, just get rid of it's use on DE storages.
Because if you max out a townhall level, there's nothing else to do except move on

I don't remember crying while posting this, but you would surely know that better than me apparently. And again with "it's part of the game." I'll repeat what I've already said numerous times. OP hogs and witches were part of the game, but people complained and it was fixed. Supercell balanced what wasn't fair...:eek: Imagine that!
