I'm not a designer/coder so I'm not sure how much work would need to go into this, but I would think just changing the clouds only would be enough. Maybe change their colors from white to a dark grey and let us toggle it on or off.
It gets so bad that sometimes I close my eyes when I hit next, and wait for the brightness to go away again before opening them at the next village. (It's so bright that I can tell through my eyelids etc)
I have tried dimming the brightness, I also tilt the device away from me sometimes. The problem isn't that the whole game is too bright.. it is just the clouds. If I dim the device so low that the clouds no longer hurt my eyes, then I can barely see the battle afterwards.
I know it's a longshot to get this in, but really any variation of this idea.. changing the colors of the clouds, making both the cloud screen and the battle screen closer in brightness (so universal dimming would work better), anything would be greatly appreciated!
This has been suggested many time before and its a wonderful idea. Would love to see this in the next update!

I suggest just INPUT where you live when it asks u in the game.
Then, it will automatically be light or dark when the times right.
I suggest kinda darker view with shadows and more

night mode is really good idea
Instead of raiding in the dark you could turn an a light. Problem solved.
There is a useful free app called "Twilight". There are other similar apps too like "F.lux".
I think that might help you out a bit.
It can be set to automatically turn on/off at certain times and it removes blue light from your screen, replacing with a red filter. The intention is to help your circadian sleep cycle, but it also gives another option other than simply adjusting brightness.
I'd be in favour of a night mode too.
