Why isn’t SC spreading the word about the diamond confirmation option?

All players, forum members or not, probably lost tens (if not hundreds) of diamonds because this option was not there.
Now they have implemented it! You would expect that they would post it big times on facebook, twitter and in the release notes. But no, there’s a small note in the release notes, that you should check your advanced settings for something nice. How many people will read that and will actually do it? I think maybe 10%, the rest of the players will still have no clue that the diamond confirmation button is there………which will result in them still loosing diamonds by accident, which will keep them buying diamonds, at least that’s what I think SC is hoping for. I think they’ve added the option to get ride of all the requests in the forum, but tried to hide it as much as possible so most players won’t find it. Why not make it enabled by default? There’s no influence wrt the game play if this would have been done. At least none negative for the players. I have seen the reply of SC and the mods: it’s a surprise!! Not that’s not a surprise, because most of the players will not find it. A surprise is a useless donkey which costs 20 gold vouchers!

    Just my 2 cents.

I’m curious if I’m the only one who thinks this way (which could be the case).

Agreed, its because its actually a diamond sink and SC probably with the help of statisticians realises that they actually get income from peoples accidents.

They added the button for complainers to retain their business, but continue to get the added business of accidents from people who dont complain as much.

all in all a win-win scenario for SC

I know it's there because the release note mentions Adv. Settings from COMMUNITY REQUEST. Nick even tease "Are you sure?" during maintenance break.

On FB page, staff gave hint to any complain about diamond confirmation.

For me, they do spread the words, not the way you expected.

Thanks for posting. I had heard there was a diamond confirmation button and tested it out on one wheat. No confirmation, so I figured it still was not for everyone. I now have it thanks to you guys.

    It's a lose-lose situation Namoh.

Had they mentioned the addition to your liking, someone else would have a thread that the font size and color was wrong in the announcement.

You are correct in that people will skip right over the mention of it in the Community Requests section of the release notes. That's not a first and won't be a last.

Fortunately others do read and follow instructions then post their findings for those that don't.

Hi Holidae, normally we're on the same page, but it's nice to have a different opinion this time.

I think it's different complaining about fonts and letter sizes then the point I'm trying to make.

There's no reason why this feature shouldn't be enabled by default for everyone. Game play will not be affected.
There's also no reason why this feature shouldn't be mentioned directly (DIAMOND CONFIRMATION ADDED) in the release notes.
There's also no reason why the diamond confirmation doesn't work every time, even when it's enabled. (I'm not sure, but I think this happens when you need a crop for an item to be made and you don't have any at that moment in your silo. Again not sure if this is case when there's no confirmation asked but other people will now, maybe they can post it)

The only reason they haven't done above mentioned 3 things is because they still want to "steal" diamonds from players.
    That's how I see it.

    Is there another explanation?

....but there IS a reason. Simply put, the reason given isn't accepted by most. That's fine because it doesn't have to be accepted in order to be a reason. Accepted or not, the reason given is game flow. You don't have to accept it. It's still the reason.

That's why it's not on by default.

Are there any other explanations that you'll accept? Nope. You've drawn your conclusions so what is it you're seeking? Validation? You already know they want to "steal" from those that aren't paying attention. What's remaining? Most already agree with you as stated in previous threads.

I found it immediately after the update, people should take care to read the release notes as I do.
and with a big extra help from meonhoc and others on the forum. others have also have been helped through the new chat system. I think most now know what to do.

i learned over four months ago the need to be careful with diamonds and with help from a stylus i can say I have never lost a diamond since.

I cannot answer why it wasnt set at default but I dont see the point in going into the SC issue wanting people to accidently use diamonds!
Many had decided not to buy diamonds or was very careful not to use them accidently.

    Well...

Well...lucky i stumbled on this thread because I had no idea whatsoever this feature had even been implemented!
Focus seems to be on everything else but this (including ridiculously costly donkeys!)

Accidentally sped up wheat today and thought..."still taking our diamonds...guess it might happen 'next' update?"

Not everyone reads 'release notes' (wherever the heck 'they' are BTW), just as they never read the fine print in documents and contracts etc.

I firmly believe that after all the hoo-haa about this topic for so many, many, many months...SC should have just been up-front and simply said "yes folks, we finally got your request sorted!" No biggie really is it???

All this aside, i am glad they have finally listened to the people...

I guess i have some searching to do now...no idea where 'release notes' or even 'advanced settings' are located though...
