I've only had one defense with this base (trophy A), but it was a 3-star with 200 lvl 5 archers attacking from the right side and a lvl 3 barb king. He took out a mortar and a wizard tower first with 3 lvl 5 lighting strikes. Is there any way to stop attacks like this or are the defenses available at town hall 7 insufficient for these kinds of raids? Thanks!

BTW, I also had a lvl 3 dragon in my cc, but it only killed about 10 or so archers before dying.

He had archers? Never had an attack like that yet. What trophy range were you at?
Yes for heavy raids you can't expect too much. Keep judging the replays, if you're not satisfied there are also the other layouts. If you have any feedback feel free to replay again!

Or a very good attacker
OR a crazy one! Got attacked by a guy with barch and 3 Freeze spells. He came prepared.

Yea your AT are maxed as with mortars and WT. I'm working on a little variation, trying to strengthen south side.If you don't find success with the current layout you can try the other one.
