Thread: Why the hate on donation goblins?

    In layouts where pathing is important (Pingfao's "The Bait") it is not very good to have archers, as the attacking troops will attack the wall to have a path to the archers, which opens up a path for a gob rush. In that case it would be better to have gobs.

    Then again, archers are the tried and trusted rusty sword of Clan Castle defense.

    Whoever says goblins are better than barbarians are idiots. Goblins are meant to go straight for the loot while the barbarians go for other. Barbarians are more aggressive and goblins will get killed in less than a second with 1 shot while barbarians can actually live more meaning more damage than the goblins

    You do realize that in defense, both barbs and gobs behave the same? The point of resource focus is irrelevant on defense. That's an attacking priority. When gobs defend, they do not raid the defender's resources, haha.

    Second, just to be clear, L5 gobs will out damage L6 Barbs and L6 Arch... just as way of comparison. And oh yeah, they run faster. People can disagree on preferences, but if you call people idiots for not choosing Barbs, you are opening yourself up to a reply like this.

    Barbs are not "more aggressive". They do not "go for the other". They hit for less damage. But, to argue for barbs, they have higher health. You can prefer it for that reason or not, but that health is an advantage. Your other points are not that sleuthy.

    People use reinforcements as attacking like me not only for defending. So when I go using goblins instead of barbarians for attacking, I'm an idiot just like you. If someone donates me goblins, I'd hope as soon as possible for someone to raid me and I'll see how will they protect my village, like fails they will be trying to kill.

    Very true. Archers are probably more reliable, but I find that goblins can save me a defense if they go unchecked. However the main point of this thread was to explain to players how goblins aren't as bad as you think in a CC.

    This is my tier list for units in a DEFENSIVE CC stance.

    1. Archers
    2. Wizards
    3. Dragons
    4. Goblins
    5. Barbarians
    6. Balloons
    7. Giants
    8. Healer
    9. PEKKA
    10. Wall Breakers

    I can't find a spot for the DE troops in the list, so I'll make one just for those guys.

    1. Valkyrie
    2. Golem (Splash dmg upon death)
    3. Minions
    4. Hog Riders

    Balloons are the most underrated defensive troop. A few level 6 balloons in a CC can really wreck someone's raid.

    AT TH6, a dragon is pretty epic when it pops out of your castle on defense. It seems to get less effective as you move up in levels.

    My list for defensive purposes.
