No. I don't know how you can even say there is no cost to hitting the next button. The costs of hitting next, collectively, are huge. Even individually, next button losses for me represent at least a quarter of my profits. That means in order to save up 8m gold, I actually need to acquire 10m gold from attacks. That is a huge difference, and an incredible waste of resources.
What they need to address is the fact that players have to hit next so often to find the thing they are interested in which are profitable attacks. A reduction in the cost of nexting until they figure out wouldn't hurt either. They can still make it prohibitive without making you lose your shirt.
