If you look at the letters that have been blocked, that is an offensive word in English. Problem is with the filter not recognizing spacing as a legitimate space between words and thinking you are spacing out the word to get around the filter, eg s t u p i d f i l t e r.

thanks for the update, Nick. Most appreciated.

It's always going to be easy to get around a filter if you really want to, but setting one so strict that even innocent words get bleeped id counter productive. Let's face it, when you want to say something nasty, you will think about how to get around it. When you say something innocent, you don't know till it is posted that it is bleeped out. So it takes multiple attemps to get your point across. I tried to say therapist and I eventually had to say someone who does therapy. Took three posts.

    Thanks for the update Nick

What we need is a "report this user" button, not a detailed profanity filter

There have been several threads going lately (including this one) about users with offensive names, avatars, words or symbols spelled out on their farms...why not have a button to report these offensive items? Right now you have to go through customer support, which takes forever and doesn't seem to work (or at least it hasn't worked for any I have ever reported), in part because you can't convey to the customer support exactly which user you are talking about when you only see their farm name instead of their actual user name. Why not place an option under the star menu to "report this user". This will tag the account in question for customer service to take a look at. You should have to give a reason for the tagging the farm (free response or pick from a list). The more tags a farm gets in a short period of time, the higher it rises on the list for customer service to take a look at.

The advantages of the "report user" function are many, but in addition to the direct flagging I mentioned above, the other really big advantage is application of intelligent (human) judgement to the problem rather than trying to write an algorithm that is always going to fall short of solving the problem.

How hard can this be? I have seen it implemented in other games.

This is an excellent suggestion, Powdermonkey. The filter is actually drawing attention to offensive words, rather than preventing their use, and we too are having to use lengthy explanations to get our message across because of the cross-word filtering of two innocent words, and the bizarre variety of words being censored. While it was amusing at first, it is now really, really old. Who wants to type "electronic message me" everytime they want to say "email me"?

The biggest issue is the filter is ok it helps prevent many offensive words BUT it doesn't prevent some so it is like a 2 year olds coloring... It covers some of the page but the rest is blank and sadly people will always find ways around these filters through emojis other letters multiple posts etc etc

You are so right Ranger! I have been trying to figure out what the problem with some words is and I have seen words I haven't seen for years. And some of those aren't that bad anyway. My brother was a sailor, I've heard them all. Lol

I've just come across this one, and it had me baffled for a sec, until I realised it was an abbreviation for pedophile "wiped out", as in "the truck wiped out all my jam".

Still would like my farm name back, Nick.

After update: a big "Thank you" to Nick and the team for restoring my farm name! Much appreciated.
