If you already have a neighborhood set up, you can go to a neighbors farms and click on the invite button asking them to join your neighborhood. But the problem I've noticed is if you don't want to set up a neighborhood yourself and you would like to just visit one of your neighbors, when you go to your building and click neighborhoods, you can't find them if you don't know what they have named it your neighbor has named their neighborhood.![]()

Hi Jude,
I agree with your nominations of LadyJem and Glade - re name of the neighbourhood perhaps LadyJem can let us know what to search for? We don't want to end up in the wrong one!

Will help all boats I can.
Oki doki this is short & sweet .... There's blue skies & a beautiful yellow shinny thing beaming down at me from up above...I think it's called " the sun " . Our day of rest before the 3 rd storm hits the Uk, which is expected to bring a months worth of rain in 24 hours ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️, along with the strong winds (92mph last night ).
My heart goes out to all who have been effected by these terrible floods.
Anyway all that been said ...I need to walk my four legged companion .
As you can see from my description of the sun, I am on parr with poets & authors
So count me in ladies ( hmmm am I being presumptuous , will I get an invite , will I go to the ball...oh no I've now turned into flipping Cinderella ) . Maybe not a bad thing , after all she does end up with Prince Charming !
May be struggling to attend tomorrow as my RL Prince Charming is off work & were off looking at new kitchen .
Level 144....Reputation level 39.....141/144 Achievements .. Masteries no idea ...

Thank you for the nominations, Jude. Glad to see you found the perfect shoes to complement your gorgeous dress. The Prof Em wants to know the name of the town in the photo, if you know it please.
Lady Jem is going to send out invitations to join the neighbourhood after she receives a pm from the person wanting to join, so that is the first step - pm Lady Jem.
The Prof Em says it's time abed. Night night ladies.

Hi all,
Crashing the party for a bitPlease bear with me for a bit and will try to offer a different perspective on a few things.
What this post boils down to is it's your hood and you decide the rules and how you want to shape your hood. Just try it out and give it a chance.
Hierarchy.
Yes there is a hierarchy with roles such as leader, co leader, elder and member. However it is totally up to you who get's what role. Those roles are necessary to run a hood for a longer time it is in place to help the leader run the hood as it can't be expected the leader is on 24x7. What value you place in them is totally up to the individuals in the hood. So if you get a good group of people together these things hardly have to be an issue at all. You could decide to have an all elder hood or all co leader hood or just a few co leaders and elders. All have it's specific (dis)advantages. Co leaders have a lot of power and can kick members and elders. Only leader, co leader and elders can accept/invite new members to your hood.
A few examples. You probably want active players in a hood and it is possible people quit, dont talk or aren't active in a hood and you want to replace them with more active members. So you want an option to remove them. Let's say you have a rule of no swearing and someone doe swear a lot or get's mad or two have an argument and you want them gone. You would need to be able to remove them. A co leader gone rogue can kick all the members out and these things do happen in clash. You probably want to fill your hood and need people who can invite others but its possible you dont want everyone to be able to invite others.
So those tools are in place for hood admin stuff.
Leader leaving a hood:
In clash it is common practice if the leader goes out visiting he passes leader to a trusted member. If he doesnt and leaves leader will be passed automatically but its hard to predict which player that is. Usually the one who has been there the longest. The hood does not automatically cease to exist unless the hood has no other players then the leader. If a leader leaves and rejoins he will be a normal member until he is promoted to leader by the current leader or to co leader by another co leader. It wouldn't work if a leader came back to a hood and was leader automatically again. There could be many different circumstances why that would have undesired effects.
Hoods are a new concept to Hay Day
They are very new and not carved in stone just yet. I can see them being worked on in future updates and do need getting used to for a while.
Trapped.
A player is definately not trapped in a hood as you can go visit others. However there are slight increasing cool downs to prevent excessive hopping. In the end hoods will settle and you find yourself in an enjoyable hood (or not as it is optional of course) you want to call your home. It is possible (but I haven't confirmed this yet) that invites override cool downs. So get your elders and co leads to set you up with an invite after you visited. If you have built up a long cool down it will decrease again after time and as said it is likely you end up in a hood you call home.
I hope this clarifies a few things about hoods.

Thanks ever so much so the info, Kolonistje1. It's greatly appreciated and definitely clears up some points we had questions on, but unfortunately doesn't quite cover all the bases. Perhaps the SC team might consider creating a sticky thread addressing the concept of neighborhoods and give players a breakdown of exactly how things are intended to work and address some of the questions that other players have brought up.
I'm sure there's plenty of farmers out there who are intrepid and fearless and welcome the challenge of figuring things out themselves, yet conversely there's also a number of others who prefer not leaping into new things without knowing what lies at the bottom so to speak. What information we've gathered thus far has been culled from others' posts or provided from the hit or miss experiences from some who've already tried it out.
A dedicated sticky might make the mods lives a bit less hectic as I'm sure they usually are after a major update. Rather than addressing individual questions and concerns in a variety of threads, one post which supplies the needed info could lessen the confusion and considerably calm the apprehensions many seem to be experiencing.

Happy to be a good neighbor & help whenever, but dairy/sugar/seafood cargoes are no goes. No challenges please. Communication is the key to contented players, SC!
We will be looking into creating a thread for neighborhoods however it will take time as for example my hood building is still being built and explaining something is much easier when you can reproduce it yourself and having played around with it for a while. However the information I can share is from my Clash experience.
As for now I think it would be best to jump in get started and figure things out as you go along. It is much easier to come ul with solutions for stuff when you run into them as opposed to trying to figure it out all in advance.
The thing is we can't explain how hoods are supposed to work as that is totally up to the people in the hood how you like dynamics to work. For now it is primarily a chat feature. You can chat about everything in game and for example announce my boat is in. Or is anyone willing to sell / trade xyz and so on. You can help each other out on events and such so more people can meet their personal goals when there is a boat event or loom event like we had.
Feel free to ask more questions and we will look into answering them as best as we can but we are all still on a learning curve. It is shiny, sparkling and brand new so it needs time but I am conviced it's a huge addition to the game in the end.
Thank you TerMinus Prime
