Each time you start a new NH there is a 500 coin charge.
If I misunderstood the question let me know please because I am curious as to why someone would want to start many NHs. You can only be in one at the same time and once its up and running it can be managed.

It's not that I would wish to start several NHs, but was curious about the cost answer as Ive already read where many players have begun NHs, joined others, returned, started new ones, left, came back, began another, etc. As I understand it, unless they have a co-leader or other members in place when they leave, then after a while the cost to start afresh would seem to get a little prohibitive.

Happy to be a good neighbor & help whenever, but dairy/sugar/seafood cargoes are no goes. No challenges please. Communication is the key to contented players, SC!

I've done it four times at least in the beginning, 500 a pop every time. Changed my hood name, accidentally lost hood rats (friends) that joined me, got the you can't join because you're not a part of a hood, not sure why that popped up since you can only be in one and I didn't have my own at the time but my bar was complete.

Thanks Jen for the info. Sorry to hear you've had so much trouble. It seems like learning how these NHs work can prove to be an expensive venture.

I think we did the right thing, discussing it amongst ourselves first, nominating the leader and how membership would be enacted, and only then setting up the hood. You have managed the process well, and as a consequence, our little hood is a happy one, and long may it remain so.

My NHBS is now complete, and Im about to create the Down on The Farm NH. Step 1 is to create a badge which consists of a choice of 6 colors (red, green, blue, purple, pink, gold), the shape of the badge (square, round, round w/ saw blade edges, shield), & a variety of emblems also in 6 colors (crossed saw & shovel, chicken, pig, horse, dog, cat, mouse, goat, fish, lobster, bat, truck, silhouette of Greg, silhouette of Mary P.), and a background behind the emblem (solid, checkerboard, bull's eye, and something else).

If your NHBS is repaired please look at these settings to get a better idea of what Im trying to describe. Just playing with the settings does not commit you to a NH. There are also options for the type of NH desired (open to all, open to requests, invitation only). A players level can also be set before joining, 29 being the minimum.

As proposed leader I'd like to be democratic about this from the get go, so am seeking input from each of you. Speak now or forever hold your peace!! That sounded less democratic and more like being sentenced to life!!

This will give you an idea of what we're looking at.

I liked the color contrast of Te Awe in full tilt mode of green for Go against the red of slow down and take it easy play style and the clean lines of the square with a classic gingham checkerboard pattern. I'm fine with 29 being the minimum join level, and vote for this to be an invitation NH over just having anyone being able to crash at least during the soirée. If I understand correctly, these settings can be adjusted in the future, so there's no danger of becoming elite snobs!

    What say you?
I knew you were the right choice for leader. Very well thought put and you have my vote, go Te Awe

Down on the Farmers and Soirée

The Soirée farmers are now set up to chat in their neighborhood. As the threads reporting the goings on with the New Years event were entertaining, this soirée at Lady Gem's also has entertainment potential.
Hopefully you farmers still intend to share the scoop or the dirt or whatever on a forum thread so a larger audience has access. Right?
