the other background pattern is diagonal stripes, and other emblems are cherry, ear of corn, crossed axe and saw, boat wheel, cow.

Do you Locke that? I just opened my farm and saw my building was ready, which was a surprise - I thought I had something like 17 hours to go to go last night and tried the options. I quite like this colour scheme with a solid background, but yours is definitely eye- catching. What do others think? Jude will be at school now, so we will have to wait for her input. Apparently you can change the badge later on, so no harm done if you go with your choice and we change it later based on feedback. What do you think?

Step 1 is to create a badge which consists of a choice of 6 colors (red, green, blue, purple, pink, gold), the shape of the badge (square, round, round w/ saw blade edges, shield), & a variety of emblems also in 6 colors (crossed saw & shovel, chicken, pig, horse, dog, cat, mouse, goat, fish, lobster, bat, truck, silhouette of Greg, silhouette of Mary P.), and a background behind the emblem (solid, checkerboard, bull's eye, and something else).

If your NHBS is repaired please look at these settings to get a better idea of what Im trying to describe. Just playing with the settings does not commit you to a NH. There are also options for the type of NH desired (open to all, open to requests, invitation only). A players level can also be set before joining, 29 being the minimum.

As proposed leader I'd like to be democratic about this from the get go, so am seeking input from each of you. Speak now or forever hold your peace!! That sounded less democratic and more like being sentenced to life!!

This will give you an idea of what we're looking at.

I liked the color contrast of Te Awe in full tilt mode of green for Go against the red of slow down and take it easy play style and the clean lines of the square with a classic gingham checkerboard pattern. I'm fine with 29 being the minimum join level, and vote for this to be an invitation NH over just having anyone being able to crash at least during the soirée. If I understand correctly, these settings can be adjusted in the future, so there's no danger of becoming elite snobs!

    What say you?
Looks good, mine and handyman's will be open in a few minutes.....

The only thing you guys have to decide up front is the name of the hood.
Any other settings like badge, colour, invite only or not can be changed later. I would suggest start the hood and talk about it in the chat. It would also help you figure out how all things work.

So anyone can enter our hood whenever they like and say they are just visiting, or can they only enter if they have been invited?

Does it cost anything to join a hood, or only to set up a hood? We have a neighbour who felt bullied by the scarecrow into forming her own hood, but wants to join our hood. Will she have to pay to leave her own hood and join ours?

having answers to these two questions would really help, please.
No it does not cost anything to join or leave a hood. The leader and co leader can edit the settings of the hood. Depending on what you choose it can be open to anyone but you can also set it to invite only or that people have to apply which yoh can choose to accept or decline.

about visiting I was talking about if someone wanted to visit a friend in game they know through the forums or otherwise but who are in a different hood.

    Happy to help

Just one last thought from me for at this point.
What's the worst that can happen when you start the NH and it turns out there is something that needs to be changed ?
The starter of the hood is out 500 coins if it needs to be abandoned and started again right ?

Every setting can be changed later except the name of the hood so jump in the fun. Its much easier to figure it out as you all actually see whats happening. But hey maybe that's just me.

is the 500 coin a one time only charge or each time the same player begins a new NH?
