Where are you exactly, Lady Jem? What is the time difference between where you are and where Jude and I are in NZ. Subtract another couple of hours for Gymgirl and Handyman? Pity Jude is still in school, but it's 3pm now, so she should be home soon.
Looking at my world clock it is 1pm here on Thursday and about 9 pm in South Carolina on Wednesday - I think that is right????

It is my understanding that you can only join the neighbourhood if you are invited and only the leader has the ability to invite neighbours to join the neighbourhood. If that is the case, then the "New Year's Eve Party at Jude's" regular participants should all be automatically invited to join, if they so wish. The Soiree Set could indicate that they want to join by pm'ing Lady Jem to RSVP to the soiree and she can then send the requisite invitations.

Newcomers, such as Stevie, can also pm Lady Jem asking to be invited to join the neighbourhood. However, (and I may be wrong here) they will only be able to join if everyone "friends" them on GC. Lady Jem could then let everyone know that say, Stevie, wants to come to the party and everyone who is currently in the neighbourhood will then send them a friend request, unless someone in the neighbourhood objects with a valid reason.

I guess we also need to make sure all the usual crowd are linked on GC. I know there are some that I am missing.

I hope I am not being too "organising" here but I think we need to get beyond the handwringing and each provide concrete suggestions as to how this will work, so that we can come to a consensus and Lady Jem can get back to preparing her farm for the Soiree and I can get back to finding an ensemble to display on the Soiree Fashion Thread.

Just read your post above, Lady Jem. Does our building have to be completed before we can accept an invite?
Not to worry, Glade, someone needs a good head or organization if we're to get this figured out, and please allow me to apologize to all the thread contributors if I seemed as if I were automatically setting myself as the leader. Since the party thread was Jude's creation, rightfully the position should be hers, yet given what we know so far, I was under the impression that whomever hosts the event will need to set up the NH, although I thank you for the nomination!

I don't know whether invited players need their NHBs up & running, but it would seem logical. If diamonds are scarce, please don't use them unnecessarily to speed anything up. So long as everyone has the capability to chat by Friday there shouldn't be a problem. Glade brings up a good point in that do we need to make sure that all invitees are linked by GC or FB. I don't do FB so would need some pointers if I need to do that.

Please do RSVP me by PM, and for those who haven't by Friday morning, I will PM to check on.

Gymgirl, you're correct. It's just a little after 9 PM EST Wednesday.

Rats, South Carolina doesn't feature on the World Clock!

OK, Eastern Time Zone, same as Washington DC, that means 18 hours behind me and 16 hours behind you. We have that much extra time.

Washington DC and Atlanta are both US EST, so you girls have it spot on, which means 10 pm for me Thursday is Friday 2 PM for Gymgirl and noon for Glade amd Jude. Is that right?

Partially - New Zealand is 2 hours ahead of us so it is now 1.35pm here [Thursday] and 3.35 pm there [Thursday] so 2pm here is 4pm there.

BTW I am fine with GC but not Facebook

Ok, I had it reversed! Since I'm in the midst of another winter storm, I anticipate the kids being out of school through the end of the week, and so long as I don't lose power, I think it will best if Im prepared to host an all day soirée! That way it doesn't matter when guests arrive, I'll be there to meet, greet, and seat them! There are advantages to not having a life beyond HD sometimes!

Oooo, another Winter storm. So the possum fur trim is a good idea! I hope you and yours will be safe and warm, though.

I'm doing a bit of clearing out of my barn at the mo, so if you need anything in the way of goodies for the soiree, do let me know.
