You have to take offense into consideration when considering premie or not.

His balloons are level 3 currently, and all of his DE troops are level 1 except his level 2 hogs.

This is indeed considered premie.

But their defense is in pretty good shape.

Haha, my troops were just like this when I got to TH9. I didn't join the forum for a few months after that!
Once I got the knowledge I recovered quickly.
Now my only lab upgrades are lightning spell (to 5), heal spell (to 6), dragon (to 3) P.E.K.K.A. (to 2) and my valks, golems, and witches, all base level.
I maxed hogs, healers, minions, and wizards after I came onto this forum fairly easily.
My point in all this being you can recover just fine. My walls are worse than yours right now!

Bro, you are totally fine. Look at my base, lvl 7/8 arch towers, lvl 9 cannons, lvl 3/4 wiz towers, lvl 3/4 air defense, mortars lvl 6 (actually ok for me now), and 95% of my walls are lvl 6 (4 are lvl 7). You're in great shape bro, and this is what I'm at now, you should have seen me a year ago! You are totally fine to me, if you are gonna be a TH9 premmie, you are definately over the good side of the fine line of premmie-ish or not. Good job. However, I say work on your troops just a little before TH10, and max out defences mostly too. Lesson learned, but well done!

I myself had this problem. What i did was Giant-Heal Barb and arch my way to max hogs. Once i did this i was able to use all Hog armies (using all DE) to acquire resources for max balloons quickly so i could eventually Ballonion. Hope this helps. I was stuck for a month in limbo too


Also, max gobs helps get quick resources on lonely bases!

Acutally, I've been in this situation for 2-3 months already. I just kept upgrading my defense. I forgot to level up my troops coz I thought I'd survive a Healer/giants/Barb/Archer/WB combo the whole time. When I decided to trophy hunt, I couldn't beat anyone in 2000+ trophies and they always 2-3 stars me when they attack. I changed my base set up a few days ago. It's good, but high level mass hogs in 1800+ trophies overpowers my base.

Lastly, how do you farm for DE? I'm not getting much.

If you're pushing, I'd go with balloon before anything else. They're essential for balloonions, and I prefer those to hogs - hogs cost a hefty amount of DE, but that's purely up to taste and preference.

For troops, it sounds like you should do the ones you use the most in your best or more frequently used strategy/strategies. For defensive upgrades, it looks lik your wiz towers need the most attention compared to the rest of your base, and then your xbows and teslas, and then your walls.

For DE farming, I started a thread asking the same thing and I got that balloonions work which confused and suprised me at the same time since you're using minions. It supposedly works, but it's time consuming and I haven't tried it yet. If you want, I can get you a pic of my base to examine it's premmie-ness and to use it. It works well, it helped me get my AQ and is easily switched to pushing mode. Currently I'm farming and I honestly get attacked 9/10 times by climbers or trophy pickers.
