Are you sick of constant lightning spells being dropped on your mortars, wizard towers and precious dark elixir?
Well, this may just be your lucky day!
Introducing the new lightning rod trap, this 1x1 trap has a radius of 7 tiles and can absorb the damage of up to three lightning spells, saving your precious defenses, resources and clan castle troops.
The idea behind this trap is to somewhat nerf the lightning spell, give it an opponent, something that others will have to be aware of and take into consideration before they decide to zap your dark elixir storage or try to take out one of your defenses.
What happens is, the second the glass bottle hits the ground, a 1x1 small rod pops out of the ground, of course this would only happen when the spell is dropped inside its radius (7 tiles). What happens next is the spell comes down on top of the lightning rod, it doesn't hit anything else. All its damage is absorbed.
I was thinking this trap should be available at TH8 and higher, when you can start to make some real dark elixir and other people zapping your storage can reap them higher rewards. It would cost a fair amount, most likely 25k+ in gold and you could upgrade it so it can absorb a max of 5 spells (giving it 3 levels).
This would solve the huge issue with the zapping of dark elixir, and add a new element to the game, where not all spells are something you can depend on 100%, you need to place them strategically.
