Same here. On one hand, I'm excited if we get a chat, but also can see it happening like you said. Should be interesting to see how it'll work out.

Also DD will become almost useless. No one is going to sell good stuff (BEM/SEM/cake/juice etc. etc.) on DD because they can easily trade them.

This is assuming everyone who plays is going to take advantage of chat...I'm sure there are some who wouldn't want to take part in this new chat feature. Also, not everyone trades...most are just casual players, so I wouldn't worry about the DD becoming useless.

If you'd have asked me this question 6 months ago my answer would have been yes, great , fantastic .
But 6 months ago my 11yr old & 13 yrs old didn't play HD.... Now they both play on their iPads .
For me personally , it will be a sad day if HD incorporate a chat room as this would mean I would no longer be able to let my two children play .
Unless there was an option to disable the "chat room" . At present neither of my children have access to the internet, they can't download games without me inputting a password & they also can't buy in app purchases without inputting a password .
Quite ironically I've been on a course today which covered CSE ( child sexual exploitation) which was a very big eye opener for me.
I feel that once you incorporate a chat room ,HD no longer becomes a game for young children.
Yes you will probably get your 1 million likes on FB , but I wonder how many parents & grandparents would agree to a chat room.

I too posted a similar message elsewhere. I completely agree with HappyHelen.
Hayday is a family game for all ages and sadly there might be some who use a chat box inappropriately and passing on comments through it which may seem like a joke to some but be offensive to others would stop me from playing hayday. I can see the interest for a chat box particularly for trading but I would rather a trade box or trade stand rather than a chat box.

I think this is the main reason I have my doubts about this feature.

I would be very surprised if Supercell had not already considered the impact a chat function would have on younger players. I think we will see some parental controls in place from the beginning. At the very least, I would think there will be an option to allow or disallow chats period in the settings.

Agree....and the DD will still be used by those who want coins and those wanting to sell items that are really not trade-able like wheat and such.

I do hope so. As a Mum of an avid 11 year old HayDayer who is not allowed on FB etc. I would be very upset if strangers could contact her on HD. I just wish someone from SC could let us know their safety measures, rather than just saying 'please like our idea if you want it'.
