It's just a revenge, you'll get used to it in higher trophy range.

surely my attack gives me an opponent a similar cup range to mine, so why the variation? I kept a check last time, and the range was 13 cups to 33 cups. What gives? And it can't just be TH level, as some Th8 offered more than TH10s. Bizarre.

    any explanation would be helpful!
The variation in cups is a good point, I don't have any solid explanation for that except that people with nearish cups are matched to eachother. For instance, in mid-higher crystal 1, you can get matched versus people from C2 or M3, as well as C1. There's just some sort of standard deviation from your current cup amount that seems to apply - but no one knows what formula is used for calculating matches, or the exact formula for calculating cup gains and losses.

As far as anyone knows, though, matchmaking IS based solely on your cup amount, and the cups gained/lost is based solely on the difference in cups versus you and your target/attacker. We know the bigger picture, but lack the details.

Huh, I thought it was announced somewhere its 200+/-, totalling a range of 400 trophies.

    I think I'm wrong.

I've not seen that stated officially anywhere, but it might be true. If someone has a decent source, please share.

But in essence, there seems to be some sort of cup range interval (standard deviation was not the best wording on my part) in matchmaking, where your cup number is in the middle and possible matches can have a rating of <your trophy count> +/- X cups.

Revenge attack my friend, get used to it. When someone is pushing and takes my base (usually one star as they are pushing with bam or barch) I like to drop 200 trophies or more and wait to three star them so I take 59 trophies from them. That being said, it has happened to me before. The first time I went to 2600 to get my gems someone obviously dropped heaps of trophies to revenge me (and possibly others) and took 59 from me. Took over 1.5 hours to get it back

The only thing im used to is not being able to revenge because of a shield or them being online...but most likely a shield....

Clan wars are great, it ranks the best, and puts their bases to the test.
You have two chances to attack, and put some stars up on the map.
No empty castles, no used up traps, infernos full, xbows are strapped.
You will be JUDGED, when replay reveals, what army was used and player skills.
