Being active and being able to donate the minimum are important but as we said in recruitment thread you need to have an overall good base and lvl5 archers.
At the moment, even though you are a th8, you have lvl4 walls, lvl 3/4 mortars and wizard towers and the only troops you had in camps were lvl3 gobs and wall breakers and lvl5 giants. And as you said, lvl5 archers arent ready yet and they are our standard donation.
