Elixir for walls and equality for barracks and camps

Who else believes elixir should be used for walls? I believe so. More than often I am maxed out on elixir rather than gold. There are far too many defensive buildings to upgrade which take way too long to finish. Often I find a builder free while trying to save gold for a defensive building and I am maxed out on elixir. It's just not feasible to waste elixir on maxing out a barracks when another barracks is already maxed out, especially if we don't use PEKKAS. It would make more sense to spend elixir on the barracks if they matched the army camps. Thus 75 troop capacity in the camps equalled 75 capacity of maxed barracks. Elixir is not used as often in this game as gold is, thus elixir should be switched for walls so we can spend it on them during times of being maxed out.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

This won't be such a great idea for those who spent those hard earned gold on wall, and now elixir? Although nice job on thinking on your idea But please read the sticky, or at least search to see if this is ruled out or not. Search is your friend! Hi, and welcome!

Similar ideas concerning walls have been brought up before (among those lowering the wall prices as well), but those ideas have never gotten much acceptance. A few reasons to that are:
    1. High level walls should be a sign of a dedicated player
    2. Lots of people have spent either large amounts of time or money to get their level 9-11 walls
    3. If prices were changed so it was easier to get walls, every base you come across in the matchmaking que would have level 8-11 walls. Do you often raid bases such as these?

While there is a plentitude of more gold needed to max out a base (even when excluding wall costs from the calculations, iirc) something that is more often than not overlooked on the elixir part is the cost of troops and spells. I'm having an easier time maxing out elixir upgrades before gold ones because there obviously is more to do with gold, but now that I'm at higher cups I sure burn through elixir at a much faster rate.

On the barracks/camp equality topic I'm not sure I'm following you, are you saying that by upgrading the barracks we should be able to carry larger armies with us into battles? If SC had intended it that way I'm sure they had put that into action from day 1. Also, I've maxed my barracks because I don't like having uneven numbers of troop slots cooking armies. Last but not least, if you're having too much elixir, use spells more frequently, cook expensive and strong troops to donate while you're riding out a shield, and cook ridiculously strong overnight armies to crush a juicy base with, be it normal matchmaking or a revenge.
