I don't believe the forum says anything against this idea. Yes, it does rule out multiple builders on a building, upgraded builders and so forth, but it does not rule out this.
I love the idea. It is a way for SC to get money ( builder huts purchased) and a way for lower levels mostly but everyone to get resources overall. If this is implemented props to you! Great thread, well constructed
While the idea offers supercell a way to earn, I don't think it offsets the amount they lose.
Their biggest sale, from what I heard, is Gemming uprades, especially at high level
By allowing a building upgrade, which say costs 800 gems to upgrade 100% faster (instant), be upgraded in half the time for any less than 400 gems, they're losing money. You can't compare collector or barracks boosting to building boosting. Barracks boosting costs 10 gems but gemming the troops themselves instantly costs a few dozen gems, maybe 30-40? Not much difference in profit loss.
But builder boosting for any less than maybe 200 gems for just double upgrade speed would not be practical to supercells bottom line.
Supercell is a business, when suggesting ideas you have to consider the overall costs to add a feature. Both upfront programming cost and losses to their current bottom line.

Sorry mate I'm just confused, you know that my idea is not related to boosting upgrades? That sort of topic has been ruled out for solid reasons. I think your first statement about how this idea might not affect SC's earning could be possibly true, but my logic concludes that at worst it wouldn't lose them money. I'd assume that it would have them make money for many reasons.
