But is barching with only lvl 5 troops suficient enough to farm during early TH9? not to mention the increment of search cost

Yes off course level 5 troops are enough for farming…collector raids remain collector raids. You need level 6 army only if you want to wreck th8.

And now, talking about the loot.
Th9 suggested farming range is 1600-1900 (anywhere from gold II to gold I is ok). Loot in those league is now good as always. Sometimes you can easily find 200k of each resources collector raids and sometimes you just spam next. Loot is changed in higher leagues where people burn their elixir on walls and repay armies has become difficult

Ah I see, I got your point. But it means need to largely depends on collector raids then

Farming in gold leagues (with barch or bam) has always been related to collector raids…anyway…with lvl6 balloons or giants you can steal everything from a maxed th8…but barching collector is faster

oh, and what do you think the best way of upgrading, leave 1 idle builder for dumping gold/elixir into wall?
or use all builder and wait between finished upgrade to put it into wall?

It depends…if you are working on long upgrades and you are farming a lot of gold i think is better leaving one idle builder… at the moment i'm upgrading both xbows to level 3, a drill to level 6 and tesla to 5. And i'm at home doing nothing so i have a free builder

Yes, I started th9 with just barch and manage to:
25 extra Walls for TH9 all upgraded to skull walls (Lv.8)
15 walls upgraded to LEGO walls (LV.9)
in first week

As new TH9, you will barch collector until you have lv.6 troops to destroy every th8

this is exactly true, I'm still finding plenty of raid on my mini account (TH9 on Gold 1)

but loot on Crystal League is extremely horrible, everybody is burning their resource into walls and collector loot is hard to find up there.

no, you can max heroes easier on TH10 because DE loot is better on TH10, plus you can protect your DE much better using Inferno Towers.

sharonsym, this is a long overdue thank you for your GREAT contribution to the community. halfway through th8 i was really contemplating jumping to th9 early but delayed it a few weeks even after reading this thread. took your advice and once i knew i could raid th8s confidently, i jumped to th9 and finished my walls during the upgrade week.

3.5 months in, zero boosting and i'm at AQ17/BK22 and my teslas STILL aren't maxed for th8 level (to all those who suggest to max everything before moving on... pffft ). huge, huge thank you

for comparison, I just get AQ/BK 14/13 in 4 months
