Should i go for it?
Another thing for consideration is
1. low barch, low bam, low balloon, low zapping. Nowhere near capable of farming DE
2. loot quality drops after clan war update
3. my clan goes to war very frequently and i am one of the top 5 players so i am 'forced' to get hogs asap

1. no worries at low barch / bam as Giants-Archer will do the job. Just get Giants lv.6 ASAP as they are very tough and you won't need healers anymore.

3. going premie is better for CW.
You have no chance against hogs/loons attack as a TH8, even the Lv.1 Hogs will crush your base easily. By upgrading to TH9, you will get extra stuff and bombs to build the anti-hog base. Lv.5 hogs will still get you. But those low level hogs will get burned.
For your attacking force, you get more spells, Lv.6 Giants, Witch and AQ. You can opt for GiWiWi attack for clanwars than can wipe almost all TH9.
If you want hogs, it's better to go TH9 too since farming DE will get much easier after you get Lv.6 Giants.

Hi yaw, first of all, I just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan of yours and your work here in the forums.

A few hours ago, I decided that I would upgrade to TH10 as it would fit perfectly on my schedule since my end of semester break starts just as my TH would finish. The holidays lasts for 2 weeks, which I think would be more than enough time to get the general/basic upgrades done.

However, I'm still trying to get my head around which upgrades I'm going to be doing first and which builders I will be assigning for each. I was wondering if you could maybe help me with this as you yourself have recently upgraded to TH10 as well.

Here's just a rough idea on the things I'll be doing (Note: This is just what I thought would work, I'm open to all suggestions/improvements):

5 Builders.

Builder Dan: Inferno #1 (5 Mil Gold, 7 Days).
Builder Bryan: New Archer Tower and Cannon (x Gold, <24 Hours). Then, new X-BOW (3 Mil Gold, 7 days)
Builder Sam: Spell Factory (3.2 Mil Eixir, 6 Days)
Builder Bob: New Mine/Collector/Drill (x elixir, x days). Inferno #2 when I have enough gold.
Builder Tom: Laboratory/Helping out Builder Bryan or Builder Bob (4 Mil Elixir, 6 Days. If I chose to go the Lab path)

As I said before, I would like to see improvements on this schedule. Is there a faster way to finish off my TH10 basic upgrades?

NOTE: Since this is on holidays, I will be playing around 4+ hours per day, with boosting of 2 barracks always available fro me to use.

Here's just an image of my base if it would help you in any way. I WILL NOT be upgrading any of my TH9 defences until I am a mid-TH10.

I would time my builders to be free the day the TH10 upgrade is finished, so they can start 2 inferno, lab & sf the same day and xbow the next day. I did that but with 4 builders only, so i started 2 infernos & SF the same day and the xbow the next day.

To do it is very simple, keep your storages full (i.e 8mil of gold and 8mil elixir)... start 1 inferno (5mil gold) when TH10 is done and farm 2 mil gold to start 2nd inferno (takes around 2-3hrs to raid). If u r not a good raider, just start upgrade a xbow a day before and cancel the upgrade to get that 2mil gold for the 2nd inferno... same strategy for elixir.

I just want to saw awesome thread!! I am almost done with TH8 I just need 40 more skulls and two BK upgrades for lvl 10. I will be following your steps that you listed for th9 progress, since I attack as much as you. Do you plan on doing a detailed weekly/monthly report for your progress with th10?

I am already th 9 now. I have got queen, upgrade lab and 1 camp, buy the second drill. I dont upgrade my SF first because my clan goes to war twice a week so i plan to upgrade them after the second war of the week so i will always be able to use spell in war. I just have 1 question. Why you dont upgrade your drill untill third month ? Should i upgrade them a bit later too ??

So essentially, you're suggesting to upgrade a fairly expensive upgrade (ie. Archer Towers) and quickly make up and farm for the upgrade cost (back to 8 Mil Gold), then as soon as TH10 finishes, buy 1st Inferno (Gold is now 5 Mil), then cancel the archer tower upgrades to earn another 8 Mil (if I assign at least 2 builders on my archer towers).

If that was what you meant, thank you sooo much for that! Although I can't do it for elixir as I have no more elixir upgrades to do that.

But if the strategy works, this is my current upgrade plan:

*Starting out with 8 Mil Gold + 8 Mil Elixir

Gold wise: Buy 1st inferno (Gold 3 Mil), Cancel all (2) of my archer tower upgrades (Gold 7 Mil), buy 2nd inferno (Gold 2 Mil), Buy, as well as constantly upgrade new archer tower + cannon, while farming non-stop for 2-3 hours (Gold 4 Mil), buy 3rd x-bow (Gold 1 Mil), continuous farming.

Elixir wise (not much has really changed): Upgrade laboratory (Elixir 4 Mil), Upgrade spell factory (Elixir 800k), continuous farming for army camps

I really like this current plan, it really gets ALL of the major upgrades over and done with, especially both infernos as well as that 3rd x-bow. But I'm still considering cancelling my lab and using that 5th builder to keep upgrading my new archer tower/cannon/walls since I'm worried my gold might 'overflow' until my first builder gets free (6 days).

Anyways, I'd love to hear more feedback on this current plan. Can't thank people like you enough!

Someone has probably asked this already, (I'm not reading 64 pages -.-)but how the hell did you max your walls at TH7 in a week! In your post you shrug it off like its nothing. I'm only on for 1 or 2 hours per day, and I'm really starting to struggle with walls. I haven't even got full crystal yet, and only 6k DE.... how long do you play in a session? Do you boost your barrcks? I guess I'm just a rubbish farmer lol.

It was the old loot system, you can loot inactives th9/10 bases for 500K+ gold
my record of loot is 675K each gold and elixir

BARCH, it can be done is 6 or less days, you only need to farm approximately 35m gold, lol. That's nothing.
