A TH7/TH8/TH9 Premie Journey ...

he'll get 3-starred in gold 2? there are a ton of noobs there...im pretty sure he'll just get TH snipes and maybe some normal attacks, but it wont smash his base. I've been in crystal 3 as a maxed TH7 (with a OK trophy base that I made) and a lot of the TH8s and TH9s attacking me (pretty advanced and good level armies) could only get 1-star against my base.

crystal is safe for a TH7 because TH9/TH10 farmers won't bother to attack a TH7.
then strong TH8 in crystal must be looking for DE. they won't bother to drop on TH7 either unless to snipe TH
so, the attacks you will get is from weak guys that go to crystal for gems.

as gold 2/Gold 1 is almost every TH9 farmers favorites... almost all the crazy gold looter is there...
that's the worst place to stay as a TH8, but If you can survive there then you're good and you must not have any problem later

if you don't have anything to take, then you're safe on every league
but when you have more than 2 million gold and 0K DE, those crazy looter won't let you go.

it's not important what to upgrade,
but you should push a bit to gold 2 and get used to farm there...

you will get 3 starred there but judging by your walls, you should make more profit than your loss. Get 40K DE... before your TH finish to buy AQ.

Most premies are bad players who dont know what they are doing, hence why premie'ness cops a bad wrap all the time. Very few people are doing premie'ness as a strategy.

Just got to th9 and can barely find a league for loot. was about to give up when i found this thread....I must say im more positive now i was a maxed th8 in every way ,it took its time but my clan leader was a premmie like u so i understand what uve said. His base is really nice now. i wish id found this thread earlier I actually need some help with base designs and replays of bam .I have used it and made a fair bit but im not doin it all that great. hmmm...but when I was a pretty new TH8 in gold 2, I had been attacked by like TH8s and TH7s only really. and I had like 200K gold available. but that that was like 6-8 months ago, so has it changed in that time? Since then, I've really been farming in gold 1/crystal 3. and did you mean 10K DE instead of 0K DE?

I'm sorry if I missed it, but what happened to the clans Holy Unicorn and Baby Unicorn? I can't recognize any of the players any more, nor do I remember the clan description being the way it is now. Did you guys rename?

Anyways, back on topic. It still amazes me how you and a clan mate of mine find DE in such large quantities around the same trophy ranges as I am in. Gold is fine though in Gold 1, I suppose if I really wanted to keep up with you and my friend, I'd need to raid 3 times as much as usual.
We three are almost at the same level (~94), however my walls and heroes are nothing compared to chat you two have right now .

I am fully agreed with your mindset on precise calculation in upgrading every level of your TH, people who always advise max defense usually do not really understanding the game mechanism

I have minions running when my TH9 finished, so I waited few days before upgrading my lab ...
same goes when I'm on TH10, I'm upgrading witch so I do inferno first

loot is always there... no matter what TH you are
you just need to find them based on your strategy and condition (troops composition, troops lvl, spells availability, etc)

For example, My Spell Factory is upgrading, so I hang around Gold1 - Crystal 2 because bases is easier without the needs of spells.
