A TH7/TH8/TH9 Premie Journey ...

Bro, I want to ask.. Now I'm TH8, I want upgrade to TH9.. What I have to max? Army Camp/Troop lvl? Walls at least in what lvl? TQVM

If you're asking this question, odds are you aren't upgraded enough.

At a minimum you should have your splash defences and air def maxed. But I stress, I wouldn't upgrade until you're 90%+ maxed.

you should already have maxed camps... there is no camps upgrade on TH8
Troop lvl must be lv.5 for all the tier-1 troops
walls - there is no requirement, but gettting at least lv.7 is great

the main thing you should care is elixir... you need much of them to get the greatness of TH9
if you're a good farmers then you should have overflowing elixir, and you can get all the TH9 goodies easily without suffering

for splash I agree, but not for AD

my AD is Lv.4 when I'm TH9 and it's fine... I just upgrade them once and now they are just (5,5,5,4)...

AD is just very useful for dragons attack which is very rare... I never get attacked by dragons for ages...
they also help for Balloon, but group of Balloon easily overwhelm an AD, stronger WT works better against loons.
Lv.4 AD is enough to shot down healers quickly, SAM works better
Lv.1 AD is enough to shot down maxed minions in 1-hit, WT/Air bombs works better

When I go to TH9,
I'm mortar maxed, WT half maxed
while my point defense / AD is just TH6 defense

I've been at TH8 since early Feb and don't even have one skull wall yet... but I raid and farm actively, for multiple hours a day. And I raid pretty hard. Just a super premature TH8, as it was. I have maxed splash, cannons, archer towers, and lvl 4 AD with 80% purple walls (lvl 7). How did you manage to move so fast? And do you think it's worth the upgrade to TH9 for me now? I'd say I'm pretty close to maxed. Just have to finish up walls to purple, AD, and teslas.

I've really been screwed since the update though. The loot is just not there anymore. Now I've really slowed down. It's virtually impossible to find good loot.

From reading guides I thought maxing before upgrading TH was the way to go and that's what I did at TH 5. I got TH 6 yesterday and after reading this thread I am thinkng of rushing my town hall after a couple of upgrades. Awesome thread

I don't farm because my clan regulary participates in clan wars, would you still advice rushing?

If you don't farm, don't rush. Rushing us only useful if you will rely heavily on attacking to compensate for your comparatively weaker base.

I followed your premmie lead, because I wanted to move fast and I liked your story. I'm now sort of a premmie / beginner / mid TH8'er. But the time has come to say goodbye to your journey to follow.

I will now take my own journey. I still use rules as: don't ever let anything run idle: laboratory, barbarian king, loot dump aka walls, or worse of all, myself. (There was a time I couldn't play the game for two days, just because my walls were maxed out at end Th7, while upgrade TH).

But since Clan Wars it isn't just the barbarians, archers, minions and BK to upgrade. All other troops would like to play. So I'm staying at TH8 for a while. Carefully not being too fast on the walls. The update has done a lot to slow me down with the skulls, so maybe that's a good thing. (yeah, it sucks...)

So goodbye, hope you do well and thanks alot for your take on Clash of Clans...

u're right... clan wars will require stronger troops such as wizard, dragons, pekka, valkyrie, etc...
I'm maxing my wizzard now... they're just lv.3... managed to 4 today and will continue to lvl.5. I'm also upgrading my dark barracks to get access for golems and witch
